Ode to Delusional DisneyDad

The Disney Dad and his Fantasyland

He swings open the gates, the circus begins,

A kingdom of chaos, where guilt always wins.

Cotton candy bribes, rollercoaster highs,

Hiding the mess behind carnival lies.

His kids, his queens, their crown demands,

Little tyrants with sticky hands.

No rules, no chores, no need to grow,

Daddy's wallet makes the world their show.

And then there's the ex, the puppet string queen,

Pulling him back where she's already been.

A damsel in distress with a check in her hand,

A master at keeping him right where he stands.

"More money, more time, more proof that you care,

No woman should matter - you promised, you swear!"

Their love is control, their bond is a chain,

While you, dear partner, just drive through the rain.

You see through the act, the debt, the decay,

The games that they play, the roles that they play.

But when you push back, when you dare to speak,

He turns on the gaslight, makes your voice weak.

"You're selfish, you hate them, you just don't get,

They need me, they love me - I owe them this debt!"

Yet the debt has no limit, no end, no cease,

Only him, exhausted, with no right to peace.

And so they keep him, their favorite toy,

A father, a wallet, their broken boy.

No love, no partner, no room for a wife,

Just groveling service - his lonely life.

But one day he'll wake, and he'll see the cost,

That in their kingdom, he's the one who's lost.

Yet by then, you'll be gone, free from the thrall

While he remains their fool after all.
