I work in the schools. Maybe
I work in the schools. Maybe he didn't pass but was placed instead? Some of the teachers I work with have different reasons they do this. Also, is he in special education? Or being referred for special ed services?
I know what you mean. SS13
I know what you mean. SS13 failed math & soc studies. A D in science. He passed to the 8th. In my case the school is prob so sick if his lying & being kicked out if school that they just want to get rid if him.
No special ed. Quiet kid. A
No special ed. Quiet kid. A little immature for his age. So being held back could be a benefit. I just don't get it and no mention of going to summer school to make up at least one of the grades.
Both parents are out of the
Both parents are out of the picture. She Who Should Be Spayed with a butterknife, x-dil, lied to get custody and then lost custody to her grandmother. She has now moved out of state. Ss is 5 states away.
Ggm was at her wits end trying to get sgs12 to do homework.
Kid is with me for a few weeks. He will be doing classwork for 3 hours each day. I'm trying to get him to grade level. We'll see how this goes. I've taught at university level. Trying to break it down to 6th grade without making it too simple will be a job.
My Sd got all the way thru
My Sd got all the way thru school like this. The schools can't deal w parents who don't want help so just socially promote them.
Sd has now spent 4yrs. in community college taking the remedial classes on our dime, she could have gotten for free, if she could have been with us and made to.
We are stopping supporting her now because we have nothing for ourselves, and can no longer afford it, so now she has gone to college for 4 years but has no degree to show for it. They only offer 2 yr. degrees there anyway, no other school would take her.
Hopefully she will finish but it is on her now.
So glad you are trying to reach this kid while you can. Instilling some pride and self respect in him would go far. Little successes build confidence for more success.
He is lucky to have you on his life.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Itman, I've lectured at
Itman, I've lectured at university and am a school teacher. Same idea. Do use the great apps or computer program's out there. Esp for maths. In Australia we use mathletics and reading eggs. Though not sure reading eggs goes high enough. The kids love it and it's great for keeping track of progress, seeing gaps etc.
