Three Whole Weeks of Normalcy!!!

The gods must be smiling down on me or something, but by a stroke of luck, we will not have the skids for 2 weekends in a row! Woo-hoo! BM wants them next weekend so she can have SDsoon-to-be10's birthday party, then the following weekend she keeps them again for Halloween, yay! I plan on doing alot of much needed relaxing and bonding with SO during our free time. Maybe take a drive south to see some friends one weekend and have some adult interactions lol, or go out for a day hike and enjoy nature as it should be enjoyed.. in a QUIET and serene manner!

On a side-not, SD10 was really getting on my nerves this weekend too, so the drop-off couldn't have come soon enough! Ugh! She's an incredibly clingy child and I find it to be borderline inappropriate now that her pre-pubescent years are on the horizon. I hope it's something she grows out of when she does start hitting her teen years. SO and I have tried talking to her about maintaining personal boundaries and telling her a young lady who should be respected does not sit all over other people's laps. We were at a birthday party yesterday though and it's like nothing was ever discussed, she sits all over grown men's laps, her uncles, family friends, she tries with her dad but he's been pushing her off more, but still it's weird to see a young girl like that sitting on laps like you'd expect a teen girl to do with a boyfriend, she drapes her arms around their necks, presses her body against theirs, rubs her hands on their shoulders.. etc, Idk, maybe i'm just over-reacting, but I know when I was a girl I was always taught to keep my hands to myself, plus it just seems to me that if personal boundaries are never taught, then what's to stop her from thinking that being overly physical with boys is ok?

us too!
next weekend they are normally with BM so we are taking a 3-day weekend away for the two of us because I am going bonkers not having any down-time for myself since early August.
then SD11 announced her dad that she was going to be at BMs for Halloween. Threw DP for a loop because obviously he never expects SD11 to be snotty with him, even though she is all the time. Don't know if they will be with us the Sunday after but I doubt it.

So we'll likely have them two weekends in a row in November but I can arrange for myself to be busy with my own things then.

We just had a kid free weekend. I was great but exhausting. SO tries to cram in 8-10 months of no adult time into one weekend. I'm kinda glad to be back to work and get a break. Kinda LOL

Ninji my SO is the same way.. "if we are going to have a weekend without the kids we have to make it worth it!" that's fine and dandy, however, it's worth it to me just to have a quiet house with no T.V's blasting at all hours and little people running and screaming around lol!

I feel the same way. SO will say "Why should I give up a weekend with my kids if we aren't going to do anything"...Because sometimes I need a break, Even if it is only once or twice a year. But we did have a great time. Smile
