Happens all the time with SD17. She reports everything, and then her perfect bio-daddy will bring it up when he is talking to DW. Annoying.

Yes, they all do that and it's extremely irritating - even more so as it's beyond your control.

Not only do they "spill their guts" but they EMBELLISH the stories so as to please the BM.

BM: "Did anything baaaaaaaaaaaaad happen at biodad's (usually using his first name as a PAS technique)?"

Skids: "SM whipped and chained me to a post!!"

Loonietunes Vindictive BM: "That's it, I'm calling CPS!!" (with big grin on her face and giving skids an extra helping of nuked hot pockets as a reward)

I think every skid does this at some point...I agree beyond your control....It's still definitely very obnoxious though!

That's pretty good!! Of course GG would NEVER go along with that as it's not "taking the high road!"

LOL HelpMeeee!!! Great idea, why didn't I think of this before, when skids were younger and were TOTAL CANARIES!! Always singing to BM about our freakin' business!!!

No shit HM (pardon my french), I would guarantee that after all the crap we go through as SM's, we probably have learned tactics and maneuvers that are very similar to those top-secret FBI agents are being trained for!!!

One time, my future SIL (FDH's brother's fiancee') thought of a GREAT idea - we should start talking, in secret, about my PREGNANCY (I've never been pregnant) in front of fskids - to not only PROVE that fskids are total spies, but to TAKE BETS ON HOW FAST BM & her cronies would get this "new news"!!!

Never did it because I always "take the high road", but let me tell you, it was VERY tempting!! I was even going to let my roots (natural hair color) grow out a bit to make it look like I couldn't color my hair for SOME STRANGE REASON...Hmmmm......

LOVE this reply HelpMee!!!

I've done that. I made up a story about my hourly wage. I used an outrageous amount and of course, now we are known as money-bags. She keeps telling the skids to have them pay for this and have them pay for that. It's amazing when it comes to buying stuff "them" and "they" is used. Usually I am invisible and don't have a say in anything. Amazing...

Yes we've gone thru this. I found myself making up things, their mother then looked like a total fool as she reported them in court documents.

Just this week, when we picked up the kids, SD immediately noticed DH's phone (it's new). We were prepared for the inquisition and we're prepared for the backlash. DH told SD that she's free to talk about whatever with her mom, but she's old enough to know the drama she causes. SD's response, "I don't really want to say anything, dad, but mom ASKS." Meanwhile, SS is in the background saying, "Yes dad, she loves to gossip, she LOVES to gossip!"

They spill their guts when they get back to mom, both forced to and willingly. I lock away everything they need not see, DH and I save the important conversations for when they are not around. It's tedious, but so worth it for our privacy and lack of drama. What little things she wants to make big issues of, we let her waste her breath on her tirade, certainly not worth responding to.

Oh! And DH didn't always see the need to keep things secret, or watch what he says or does, but it sank in eventually after more than a year of being married and the drama seriously affecting our lives. Same with me, I've come around to just letting the trivial things slide while securing the most important information.
