But it works
Not commenting works on several levels. First, it keeps DH from feeling like they must defend the child. That means at least a superficially more peaceful relationship between us and DH. Second, it lets DH experience the child's issues himself and hopefully, come to his own conclusion. Third, not commenting frees up a little of our brainspace, once we get into it.
But I agree, it's so hard not to point out the obvious. And also hard not to point out how the obvious could be corrected and by whom.
I've bitten my tongue so often...
I'm surprised its still attached to me! Yes, it is hard to do but necessary to keep the peace.

SD10 was talking with her mouth full at dinner tonight. Shoveling in rice as if it was going to disappear in seconds. She started coughing and literally spit rice EVERYWHERE. I just got up and left.
The following went through my head "Stop talking for once while you're eating. The food ISN'T going anywhere. Stop shoving your face."
