My DH has class

and I have to stop and remember, based on his example, how it is done right. DH took SD16 to follow-up DR appt. BM had taken SD over month ago to appt with this MD, and made follow up due to some meds were trying for acne, and BM's desire to start birth control for acne and regulations. DH had taken SD to GYN last week, who did not agree w/using BC for acne and only in extreme instances of problematic periods--I totally agree with this assessment.

Well, this general MD OBVIOUSLY had heard a bad rap about my DH from BM the last time. She was not professional and seemed to be very much "I am right and you are ignorant and you haven't taken good care of you daughter bit."

My DH just acted professional, unlike Doctor, in return, asking questions about things that he researched himself in regards to acne and regulating period, as well as the fact that GYN was against without further testing. This other MD thought from what she had seen (only having seen the girl ONCE in her life) that she needed BC for regulation. DH just asked that the tests be sent to GYN so that GYN could study based on her already performed tests.

Me, I probably would have left, said something directly to the MD about her attitude with me, and even complained to her boss, who we have met with several times for various kids. Instead, he took the right approach, saying it does no good. If someone has in head before you know the truth, there is really nothing he can say or do. THey have to become un "ignorant" themselves about their false impressions first.

Wish I could be more like him--I cause that is what an extra 8 years can do to him---FYI--this happened this AM on his Bday (BM of course schedules it on his Bday, being who she is). Happy Bday sweetheart

Yeah... men are like that. I would have done like you said... left, and complained to the boss.... or confronted the Dr. about her attitude. And your DH is right, it would not have done any good. I think us women, get to emotionally involved in things like that. We take everything to heart. Who knows, maybe this Dr. just has poor bedside manners... which would also piss me off. I too wish I could be more like my DH in these situations. He is much more rational than I!!
