Girly question: for those on birth control, do you think the hormones help your mood?

The reason I'm asking is that I am thinking about replacing my IUD with a new one. I have Mirena and I loved it. Yes, past tense. I noticed when I started if four years ago that my monthly mood swings were barely noticeable. Now I will admit that was B.SL (before step-life). But I also had to take extra progesterone while pregnant as they thought my body wasn't able to maintain normal levels. And I was the happiest I've ever been in my life.

I'm thinking that my body is liking and needing the extra progesterone and I've heard of people having to get their IUDs replaced early because they "ran out."

I'm a little young for menopause...late 40s. And my female relatives all went through in their mid 50s.

Anyone notice a better mood balance while taking progesterone? Anyone have trouble convincing the OB/GYN to replace it early?

HELL YES.

been on b.c since i was 14 due to the bitchiness. my dr doesnt see the need for any periods if i dont want, so i take it continuously (no off week monthly or quarterly). no pms, no cramping, no mood swings, no eating a pound of peanut m&m's in one sitting.
