So my sd sent me to my other sd room to check her dresser cuz it stinks. I found underware that had not been washed since who knows when... and a used pad.. nasty!!!!! this is not the first time i found dirty underware in her drawer. I tell dh and he says for me to talk to her about it. I talked to bio mom who btw thinks she is better than everyone. She says yes she is gross at her house also but she is sure that she finds it way b4 I do and she has her clean it. Well i dont make it normal practice to dig through her drawers. Also her mom thinks I should not be so involved in her parenting. And my husband hates to get on to her becuase she is hardly ever here. i am not sure htis is a guestion. i am just venting.

What is it with that nastiness and skids? My skid did the same thing! When she left for college, I found 2 used sanitary pads under the bed! UGh.

Ewwwwwww!!! Makes me kind of happy that I have ss's and will never have to stumble across this! However in 10 or so years I could end up finding used condoms or something. Now that would be just as bad. In stepkids defense, I think its just some girls "teenage thing" my younger sister used to do the same thing! Or she leave her tampon in the toilet and not flush. Maybe they just don't get it yet?

I just threw up in my own mouth a little bit when I read that.

You know what might be appropriate? Everytime you find something hazerdous in her room, like, oh, say, a sanitary napkin with bodily fluids lying around (OH MY GOD!!!) have her clean an unpleasant amount of household things.

A recent lesson here was that the person that makes a mess in the bathroom or refuses to flush their own potty gets to clean the bathroom. Includingling the toilet. With a pumice stone. Ewww. That and scooping poop in the dog run, cleaning the cat box and scrubbing the playtop from the birdcage, vacuuming out the van with a shop-vac, I could make a chore list all day.

Just make the consequence something so loathed that she will clean up after herself.

Ok... I can totally relate to this.

Your SD has not been taught how to properly handle these things.

New Rules:
1). You will NOT change your sanitary things in the bedroom!
2). You will dispose of EVERYTHING unsanitary in the proper way. Detail this out.
3). If I find another _________ laying around anywhere in your room where it does not belong, you will have to do _____________.

And stick to it. Seriously. Explain how gross and disgusting it is.

My mother related her story to me like this:
When I was a young girl, there were 9 kids in our house. 5 girls. 4 boys. The rule was... when one of the girls was on her period.... no one was to know about it. All items had to be disposed of completely and taken to the outside garbage, carefully and completely wrapped. Never were any of these items ever found in the house.

Now that is severe, but it worked and the boys never had to deal with soiled grossness in their faces.

Good Luck.

Same exact situation - SD 13 - I used to go in her room last year - just to clean out stuff... I would find crusty (GROSS) underwear; rolled up "things" shoved under bed!! One time I was reorganizing her drawers and pulled out a pair of pants and went to shake them out to refold them - AND STUFF WENT FLYING EVERYWHERE OUT OF THEM. Didn't ask what it was - didn't want to know. I am not sure why the do it; when asked SD said, "Well, I'm sorry I am not as clean as you!" REALLY -I don't know NEONE that is like that.

I give my BK the option; clean your room yourself; or I will do it my way - Needless to say; I do it....LOL but SD put up such a stink with daddy; that basically I am not ALOUD in her room... Can you believe it; not aloud in - in my house... You have no idea what it smells like.........nasty!!
