No, wait... I'm just a stepmom.

I don't post much, just because I think I learn more from reading everyone else's blogs, seeing different choices, and evaluating how things eventually turn out. Lately though, I've noticed a lot of fiction and it is making it hard to tell what actually does work, and what is made up.

I just wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful posters here who are kind enough to post their stories.... For those of us who selfishly learn from your mistakes! I'm sure there are a ton of other silent readers out there who agree. I'm just hoping that everyone takes *some* of these stories with a grain of salt, and not learn the wrong lessons. Especially some of the more ridiculous ones I've seen lately!

Thank you Steptalk! I successfully disengaged to allow my FDH to pick up the parenting slack... And he has (though he has a ways to go). I'm still involved with my stepkids, but letting go of discipline was such a load off. Now I'm more like an aunt, and my household is calmer than it has been in years! I owe it all to the information I got here. I wish I had been reading before FDH and I moved in together. It would probably saved us all a lot of heartache!
