Interesting little observation

Silent14's picture

DH offered to make dinner tonight since I'm working late and have an after work obligation. He ended up running a little behind schedule, so he called my BD13 to ask her to get the meat started (it's an easy dinner tonight). Funny thing is SD15 is here this week. He didn't ask his own kid who is older for help. This is not the first time he has went to BD13 instead of SD15 for help.

Happens all the time with DH. He asks SD11 for help with thing a lot - she's agreeable and likes tasks so does it. He rarely asks SD13 as it may develop into an argument.

This is why I don't do much when SDs are with us. He gets to deal with it since he's ignored the issue forever.

Oh I'm definitely evil.....

SO use to do this as well, rather ask my son to do his things then his precious little snowflake... I instructed my son to ignore SO, like his daughter ignores me when I ask something silly or her help..

SO flipped one day and went off on Deigma about being disrespectful blablabla, Deigma kept quiet, I waited till we where alone and I ripped into SO and said... you treat my son like your slave while you have your own daughter in the house, I'm not allowed to tell or ask her anything, I'm not allowed to scream and shout at her, yet you have the balls to try and parent my kid.. eff off keep away from my kid I will kill you, get your own kid to be your slave...

was a huge huge fight and SO dared telling me but Aergia is a girl.... I laughed and said and girls work in the houses, cooking cleaning, boys work out side.. if he wants to play that card I will play it better.

In my former step hell life, my kids were expected to do work when his kids weren't. ExSD could not be asked to lift a finger. She was busy. Doing nothing but messing up the house. Let's just say I fixed that. I wasn't having it. When he and his kids were there, me and my kids only cleaned up after ourselves. Period. When they all left, we threw their stuff away or on their beds and enjoyed peace and cleanliness.
