For awhile now WE (FHD and I) have noticed that even though the boys (ss4 and ss6) have their own rooms at our house they usually hang out together in SS4's room. We thought it was odd and they get to fighting so I send SS6 to his room, but shortly after I walk away he goes back in there. Now both rooms have TV's and SS6's is actually bigger.

I know that they share a room at BM's, but you would think that they would like the be alone some times.

Well FDH dropped them off yesterday and went in to talk to BM about something. BM and her husband were sitting in the living room - watch TV and eating dinner - when SS6 comes out of his room with a Subway sandwich. BM asks him why he brought that out there and SS6 said that he wanted to eat with them (and not in their bedroom) BM sent him back to his room.

So clearly her idea of parenting is for them to just stay in their room all the time and leave her alone.

This explains a lot about what goes on at our house. I don't allow food to leave the kitchen/dinning room because I have seen them eat, they make a mess out of everything and the tile is easier to clean that the carpet. We let them have the run of the house my only rule is no toys in the kitchen. They like to watch TV with us, but they often spend time together in the back bedroom. But I can't change what BM does I just have to let them know that they can play any and be around us.

On the plus side I no longer feel guilty about wanting a baby and truing SS6's room into a nursery Smile Since he doesn't us it any way accept to sleep and he has asked to 'camp out' in SS4's room.

Seems like the only people they have that they count on any more is each other.

I call this the "huddle" effect but I saw it for a different reason as well. Seems the Behemoth was relaying the message that the skids should "stick together" at my house since I'm an evil SM and can't be trusted!! Lol

The Behemoth does the same thing; allows the skids to eat and literally LIVE in their own rooms.
