The kids all know they aren't allowed to date. They are able to go places in mixed groups but we will also have ss14 go with dd13 (or even ds11 or ds10) if we think there is any funny business. We also like to encourage the kids to get out if the house more because all these lazy kids ever want to do is sit in the house. So I'll make plans to send them to the library, mall, movies, park, teen church activities, etc for a few hours here and there. We are also testing out their independence and trying to get them more into the world.

Anyway...

Ss thought he had a "date"planned for himself and another girl, the girls sister and ss's cousin. Dh told him "great. Let me know when you're going because you're taking your step sister. I've already let your cousin know"

He was so upset and crotchety. He whined the while morning that it was supposed to be his date with the girl.

Dh told him, "sorry ss. When you are old enough to call a girl on the phone, drive to her house, knock on her door and meet her parents, then pay for her to go out, then you will be on a date. Right now you are going with a group of friends to the movies".

Lol. Ss wasn't even the one planning it. Dh and I had to keep texting with cousin to see what the plan was. And cousin wasn't even able to go.

These kids think they are all that and are trying to move so quickly. Meanwhile, he can't even call the girl to see if she still wants to go - even if the cousin can't make it.

Dating!!! Lol.
