A few months ago this happened and it was very frustrating...since then I've thought that maybe the next time SS gets sick at day care that BM will take her turn in taking the day off. Last time she refused to take any of her PAID TIME OFF (my blog from that incident: http://www.steptalk.org/node/26379) and my fiance and I took half days off from work UNPAID to watch the poor little guy, and even took him to the walk-in clinic. That time she brought him to daycare knowing he was sick so that just made the whole drama even worse.

This morning, I got a call from DF saying that daycare called him because SS2 has a high fever and is complaining of stomach pains. He called BM to see if she could take him for the morning because DF is out of town for work until at least noon...DF was thinking they could compromise. BM told him she WON'T (she didn't say "can't" -- as in, she has none left, she said "WON'T") take any of her PTO for this and that she would call a friend of hers to see if she can pick him up!

Poor little step son doesn't want to be with mom's friend who he barely ever sees!! He wants a mom or a dad! So now my DF is racing to get through with his first half of the day to get back into town to pick up his son.

It is obvious that BM puts herself first in EVERY situation...but why can't I just learn to accept that yet and roll my eyes at her idiocy and then turn a cheek? Why do I let it bother me soooo much?
