OK, so I find out today that my older sd's boyfriend/father of baby is in the jail on a dv charge for getting drunk and grabbing her. The cops showed up and took him to jail and there he sits with a restraining order on him. I'm assuming that she called the cops but she is angry about the restraining order.

This is the Father of my step-grandson that I am not allowed to interact with even if the baby is a foot away from me. I'm like oh, I see the problem; I'm not drunk and anti-social so clearly I have no business around her child. All this comes on the heels of her and my husband's contraversy over wether he would attend the baby shower that I wasn't invited to.

The former step-mother that she does allow to see the baby stole her baby's childsupport right out from under her and pocketed most of her welfare money to boot.

So I guess since I'm not violent, a thief, or an active drunk that I'm not good enough to be around my step-grandson who I was there when he was born. I also don't use children as pawns to further my own bitter agenda, mainly due to the fact that I don't have very much in the way of a bitter agenda.

My sd truly has an interesting choice in who gets to be around the baby. It is her child and I respect her boundaries around her child, but I'm not obligated to think it makes sense.

The irony is not lost on me that I am not invited to the baby's first birthday but if the Father of the child shows up he goes to jail.
