Dear Valued Users,

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.

This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.

We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.

We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.

Lord Give Me Strength!

Chef is taking up the guitar as a hobby. Poor dear has a tin ear, no rhythm and no musical aptitude whatsoever.

I have to listen to the same 3 notes over and over and over again. Trying to teach him to read music is nigh on impossible. I told him to keep practice to an hour a day (for my own sanity) I think he has this fantasy about being a country music star. And ironically Pumpkinhead OSS stb 23 was supposed to be a rock star..

ahem!

In other news, I defrosted the chest freezer, got a new frig and inventoried everything. No more of Chef running to the high end grocery store every day!! I am putting out food we ALREADY HAVE from the freezer! What a concept!

Hahah my exSO played guitar. Or so he thought. He played one song on and on and on. I am somewhat tune deaf so I wasn’t 100% sure but exSDs ensured me it was all the same song hahaha

My DH plays an instrument. Not a guitar. He is good. Knows many songs. But instrument itself is hard to listen to for more than 10 minutes. So I walk out of the room after 10 min. I feel bad but I have low tolerance
