I came home to SD15 lying on the couch. At first TBH I was annoyed because I didn't want to deal with her attitude.
(Note this is not our conversation word for word but for the most part this is what was said)

Ticked- SD why aren't you at your aunt's

SD - I don't like it there we fight allot

Ticked- Is everything ok

SD - yeah daddy said I could come over and rest

Ticked - If you need to talk I'm here

SD - Ticked? I screw everything up I'm going to be a mom at 15 and my boyfriend just dumped me for good.

Ticked - Is he still going to be a part of the baby's life?

SD - I don't know he said he's tired of me and he was only with me because he felt like he had to be.

Ticked - Well then he's not the type of guy you want to be raising a baby with. Did you come up with a plan remember we talked about having a plan for after the baby is born.

SD - I don't know what to do I'm really scared ticked. I don't have my mom here to show me how to be a mom.

Ticked - You have me I know I'm not your mom but believe it or not I love you and I'm here for you and I'm not going anywhere. And your father loves you and we're only hard on you because we love you.

SD - Are you really going to be here for me? Can I move back home please I promise I will respect you guys more.

Ticked - Well there are rules here and you have to abide by them to stay here and if leave again or we have to find you else where to stay do to your lack of respect there will be no coming back understood?

SD - Yeah. Ummm ticked will you help me be a good mom? I'm really scared and I

Ticked - Don't cry trust me if you really want to be a good mom you will get a maternal instinct and mothering will come naturally. You just have to always remember that your child comes first and school comes second not your friends, not boys, not partying.

SD - Ok I already love it so much.

Ticked - Now just know your father and I, are not your baby sitter’s if you choose to keep this baby they are your responsibility. We will help you out as much as we can but the responsibly of caring for this child will fall solely on you. You need to be ready and if you’re not ready there are people who are and would love to love your baby.

SD - I'm ready I’m not giving it up. Lots of teen mom’s turn out to be great moms

Ticked - Ok but don't base your life on them you are a completely different person.

SD - I know. Hey ticked. Umm thanks and I know I don't always show it but I do really appreciate you.

Ticked - thanks now go wipe up those tears and I'll fix you up something to snack on. Oh and SD don't cry over that snot nosed boy he's not worth it worry about your baby and let him kick rocks. If he chooses to be a good dad and get some time with his kid that is something you will have to deal with later.

SD - Ok thanks for talking to me.

Ticked - no problem

SD- Hey DAD

DH - Yeah

SD - Can you please go to my birthing class with me?

DH - ????!Whaaa???!

SD - DAD!

DH - Oh ummm..... Ask ticked I uhhh have a thing

Ticked - DH (the look)

DH - Fine sweetheart

I pray this girl makes a great mom. All the things I say about these girls and all the crap they put me through my heart still has room for them. Damn my since of empathy and compassion!
