I'm a step grandmother now

SD16 is now a mother. DH and I aren't exactly thrilled but there is this beautiful pink little boy with ten fingers and ten toes sitting across from me in his mother's lap. I have nothing but love for him at this moment. When SD was rushed into labor and delivery it was my hand she reached out for. It was me who she begged to stay by her side. She said to me " Ticked please stay with me it hurts really bad, You're the only one I trust". After the intense delivery process she said to me "Dad, Ticked please help me to be a good parent". When I held my step grandson in my arms I shed a quick few tears and wiped them away. DH cried to but tried to play it off like he was just looking away. I know how quickly things can turn to crap. But this week has been more than I could have ever imagined. Even with all of the newborn noises echoing through out the house things are good. I just want to pause in time.

Congratulations.

I have several friends who were teen moms. Fortunately, none of their kids were. Even though the girls didn't have kids until they were at least 21, my friends were not "grandma age".

So instead of using grandma, they all call themselves GLAM-MAs. LOL

Man Ticked that's touching. You must be a pretty special lady. Wink And I know them feels- miniCTBB is my heart, I can't stop kissing him whenever we see him(which is NOT enough lol). Enjoy these 1st few days. I don't know if you're religious, I apologize if you're not,but I believe every soul is known by God before they are born and are created by Him- whether it's your little gskid with his 16 year old mother or little prince George. I was a grandma at 26. 4 months after dh and I got married, OSD had her first kid at 17. My mom called me to poke fun. She was saying 'haha, you're a grandma' o ER and over. That is until I asked her guess what it makes you? She went real quiet.

I'm only 30, today actually, and I am so excited about grandchildren. I don't want any more of my own but fDH and I talk all the time about what it will be like to have grandchildren running around. We're nerds that way. We have a while to go... The oldest of the 5 kids is only 9!

I'm 42 and all 3 of SO's daughters had babies in 2012. Grandma 3 times over lol. It's lots of fun !! Christmas this year was a blast :).

I don't get to see my step-grands nearly enough. I never realized how much they would mean to me even though I am "nothing" to any of them. It kind of makes me sad that DH is Grandpa and I am...that nice lady who gives me chocolate milk.
