O.T/ Work gripes

TickedOff's picture

My boss thought " Hey why not stop at Ihop today and leave my employees waiting out in the cold for an hour".

5am:I pulled up to work its still dark outside and freezing.
5:05am realize my boss isnt there so I wait in my car that has a broken heater.
5:15am:My co-workers pull up we all wait for 15 minutes looking at each other.
5:30am:we text one another like " where is this fool. I hope nothing happend to him".
5:35am:I go sit in the car with my co-worker where there is heat.
5:45am:We get distracted by a rather large woman in neon paint splatter spandex.
6:15am: boss finnaly arrives with lame excuse that they took long filling his order at Ihop. I roll my eyes and get to work.

Anyone else have some work gripes they would like to share on this fine monday morning?

5:45 am - LOL!

Work gripe: just that there's four inches of snow and more coming down and I still have to go in...

Working from home. As soon as I saw the snow, I text the boss. Hell no, I am not driving 35 miles in this madness. No thank you!

Hey Cactus. Where I work the employer cannot ask for a doctor note until the employee has been out for at least three consecutive days...UNLESS that employee has shown a specific absence pattern like you just mentioned and then the employer can ask for the doctor's note as of the first day.

Interesting. It depends on the company policy I suppose. Do you have mostly salary exempt people at your work?

I would be ticked too. Someone should mention to your boss that maybe it would be a good idea to let another trusted employee (or two) have a key to open up in the mornings just in case the boss wants to take his time coming in again.

My work tick off is that my coworker is taking vacation this week and we're already short this week. This leaves me alone in here in my department. It's not totally a bad thing I guess...more time to "play".
