Wooo Hoooo SKIDS FREE weekend!!!!!

Oh how I love these weekends!!The stress goes out the door when they do!! I have 4 more kids at home but I love these weekends when I don't have to deal with the hate and disrespect they give me and DH. I just kind of wish every day was like this and I only had to deal with them every other weekend, or not at all. I just love my kids soo much they are sooo wonderful(not perfect though) they made mommy and daddy breakfast in bed this morning and they helped with chores today and gave us lots of hugs and kisses and love, skids aren't like that at all, not even to DH. I just wish they would take their bad attitudes and hate and go live with their mother. I don't want to contaminate my children with their bad attitudes. Is there anyone else dealing with this kind of situation or am I in my own private torture cell over here!!!?????

You're not alone. Despite the aggravation she causes me, I'm proud of my daughter's ability to empathize and her great capacity for kindness. I wish I could say the same for the skids. Whenever they have visited it's been chaos and mean-spiritedness in my home. Lucky for me, they haven't visited in many months. Unlucky for me, it also means I haven't had the opportunity to forgive them and help them through this difficult time. I'm trying to feel better about them. But I'm still relieved they're not here.

We have every other weekend kid-free. I truly believe this is what has kept our marriage strong. We arranged it so both sets of kids would have their visitation with their other parents at the same time.
