I hate bridal showers - OR - STFU Medusa relatives...
So, I am sure you all remember that my DH is still close with Medusa's dad and SM. Most of Medusa's dad's side of the family, including her two younger half sisters, have NOTHING to do with Medusa, but there are a few who still have some kind of contact with her.
Anyway, the older of Medusa's half sisters is getting married in October. We will call her Kelly. Kelly is a great girl and I really like her fiance, BUT I am certain at some point Kelly will end up here because said fiance has a 9 year old daughter, who, if her behavior at the shower last weekend was any indication, is going to be a real pain in the ASS.
BabyVoice and I were invited to the shower and, while I initially dreaded it, it was not as bad as I thought it would be.
Oh, sure, the Medusa relatives who still speak to her were there, but they were under explicit instructions from Kelly that they were NOT allowed to mention her name (Kelly hates her, perhaps even as much as I do), but they understood that to mean that they couldn't mention her around Kelly.
They had no problem mentioning her around me.
"oh, so YOU'RE WOB" Yup, that's me. "oh, Medusa says blah blah blah blah blah" that's interesting, since she hasn't laid eyes on her kids since January of 2012 "what? she says she sees them once a month." She's a liar, and I am done here.
I got all kinds of nasty looks but like I gave a shit. They tried to talk to BabyVoice about Medusa, but BV said, "yeah, I am not a fan or mom or her lies, so let's not talk about her." I WAS SO PROUD OF HER!!!
Anyway, I landed over with the mother of the groom, her two sisters and her daughter-in-law, all of whom come from majorly effed up step families so, of course, we immediately bonded. Groom's mom said she is going to make sure that we are at her table at the wedding 
I made sure that I looked great, that I laughed like I didn't have a care in the world, and that I was the best dressed in the room. I have every expectation that one of those bitch aunts or cousin surreptitiously took my picture and I looked GOOD!!!

What is just so weird is this - all the aunts and cousins talk to each other and spend time together...only some of them are in some kind of contact with her, but ALL of them are in contact with the skids (birthdays, holidays, etc) so they KNOW that Medusa hasn't been around the skids in forever.
I can't even with that crowd. I can't stand Medusa's dad, but I really like her SM and her younger half sisters. Medusa's sister is okay, but she is a recovering addict, so I am a little leery. She has a daughter the same age as BV, and they get along very well, so we have some regular contact with them.

Me: Then she will go to federal prison for kidnapping across state lines.

Me: LMAO. She lost custody when she abused SD and can only get it back if she goes to court.
Her: But she said that after her probation was done (for abusing SD) that she automatically got custody back.
Me: No.
I really want to know what she told all of these people when she didn't move and she didn't have the skids living with her after she ended probation.
Her and I started a strange facebook relationship of sharing BMs stupidity thru IMs for the next few years.
