My stepmother wanted me to call her mom but I was eight and my BM was dead, so little different situation. I never did call her mom though and there is no way I would ever expect my SD to call me mom, I don't want her calling me mom. The least she calls me anything the better. Smile

The problem is not being called 'mum' or being called by my name. I could care less what my skid calls me. My nieces and nephews call me by my first name and they are very respectful. They have such a good attitude. My skid calls me 'mama' but he has the most rotten attitude towards me.

I agree.. I couldn't care less if skids called me "mom". A friend's daughter calls me "Aunt Daizy"
It's about how they treat you. Since my skids treat me like shit, I'd prefer they just don't speak to me at all.

Ugh. The guy sounds like a super-lazy parent, and the SM sounds misguided, possibly via her apparently God-like father who calls all the shots for the entire planet?

The guy who wrote the letter takes no accountability for his actions. He acts like it is someone else's fault that he couldn't keep his dick in his pants instead of in a younger woman.

It is inevitable that he will find his dick falling into some young unattached thing sooner or later. And then his God fearing wife will have to move over like his exwife did. I hope that she tells her kids to respect baby mama number 3.

I am glad that he recognizes what a douche canoe he is and what a stand up guy the stepfather is.
