YSD is moving across the pond!

Not popping the champagne until she is on the plane because YSD always has a lot of big plans and thoughts and they never actually pan out.

YSD18 had a baby over the summer with her BF of many years (who spent most of those years cheating on her). He joined the Air Force this summer in May.

First he was going to be stationed in our state, she was going to go to college to be an anesthesiologist (I have better chance of winning the lotto then this actually happening) and they were going to live half way between where he's stationed at and her school. Which made no sense but whatever. She told us this in June.

Then a few weeks ago she asked DH for $ for a down payment for a car. She needed it because she is going to be getting an apartment and going to school. DH did not give her any $.

Now she's marrying baby daddy and they are moving to England in the next few months.

I have no issues with her moving that far away. I'm almost giddy about it.

If it pans out I think it could be a good opportunity for her to mature, learn about life and hopefully thrive.

However, how I see it panning out is her just sitting around in military housing. She's sooooooooooo co-dependent on BM and now baby daddy. She's worked maybe a month in her life, she has no real life skills or motivation. I honestly think her baby daddy will eventually out grow her.

Only time will tell...

I feel like it's almost too good to be true....

She did tell DH though that she wants to spend more time with him since she is leaving soon. So I'll have to suck it up for the next few months until she is gone.

Sounds pretty close to what my co-dependent SD's situation was, except she didn't graduate high school. While living on base overseas, she did absolutely nothing, just figured she'd have it made as a military wife, I guess.

Then, her husband got booted. They came back, struggled for a couple of years, until he left her. And I mean, just left her. She didn't even realize it.

I'm pretty sure he only married her for the bump in pay in the service, and so he wouldn't have child support taken out of his pay.

I hope it works out better for your SD and she stays across the pond!

I hope it works out for her too... I'd like to have a good success story for at least one of the 4 skids. I hope she takes advantage of the opportunity and makes the most out of it.

My poor DH never had a chance at a successful ending for either of his two sons. That's what happens when one breeds with bad genes.

The older son that I never met died in his mid 30s after spending years as a murderous gang member. Probably a fitting ending. He had zero redeeming qualities. He was mean as a snake.

YSS was a totally worthless scum bag when I met him in his 20s - living on the streets, doings major drugs, etc. He was not nearly as evil and cunning as OSS. I really thought he might have a chance to clean up his act. He's found a succession of women to live off of - the latest one he's had a child with. I thought maybe they were going to at least be okay - but no he's still a big time user/loser.

Don't get me wrong - I do not put all of the blame on BM. She has tried very hard to overcome her genetic heritage. She does not drink or do drugs at all (same as DH). It's not her fault that her father had genetic issues (not her problem).

SS32 (2nd son) has significant genetic issues - yet I believe in free will. He did not have to choose to be an ahole user/loser
