Who has been forced to pay for their stepchild's braces?

Recently my husband's ex-wife demanded that he pay for half of their child's braces. This woman is ruthless when she wants something. She stood there insulting my husband for being "cheap" and sited numerous examples of his cheapness in their child's presence. This wasn't the first time this has happened. Has anyone else been in this situation? By the way, during the argument she told my husband that she had already talked to her lawyer and she was going to get the money with the lawyer's help. I am so upset.

What does the contract say about medical?? Most of the parents get stuck paying 50/50 if they dont have dental ins.

Yep Sparky's right, most divorce decrees list an agreement regarding medical and dental. Make sure you see the actual bill, you don't want her screwing you over like my husband's ex tries to do. She's such a bitch.

I know my divorce decree my ExH has to pay for medical and dental and 50% of out of pocket. So, our son is getting his braces in January and he is paying 50% of out of pocket.
Dont get me wrong that was after I complained enough that he needed them sooner than later.
