Completely OT - I'm a infomercial sucker
I consider myself an intelligent woman. I have learned over the years to take most things I hear with a grain of salt. However, there is one thing I am a complete sucker for - infomercial products. Most things I can look at and dismiss, but there are a few that I just have to have!!!! I'm not talking about the Billy Maze and Shamwow guy commercials - most of that stuff is just junk.
Example - the Kymaro body shaper. Looks wonderful on the commercial, right? You should have seen me trying to put that thing on - I was dancing around the room, shaking one leg and then the other, going around in circles. Then it's on, and I stand up straight, which you have to do because otherwise it would cut off the flow of blood to your legs. Anyway, it looked good, and I walked proud - until I had to pee. Then I had to do the jig all over again in a cramped ladies room stall. Even then I couldn't get it pulled up all the way and you ladies know what I mean when I talk about the panty hose crotch gap - very uncomfortable.
My favorite find is the Wen Hair Care System. OMG!!! That really works! I have wavy/curly, color treated hair. If I blow dry it straight, I still have a little bit of frizz going on. If I leave it curly, it looks good for a little while and then goes limp. Then I saw the commercial, and knew I had to try it. I didn't want to get roped into a program where they send it to me every few months and bill my credit card, so I looked on e-bay and found it. It is basically a conditioner - that's it. It's not a shampoo. I did the treatment, and I have the softest, most manageable hair I've ever had in my life! It has body and bounce, my hair color has not faded - it's wonderful!! After a few weeks, I ran out of product. So I was desparately searching for something similar that wouldn't cost as much. Wen is very expensive, and I'm honestly ashamed of how much I spent for a haircare product.
After doing some research online, I learned I could use any conditioner. For the past three weeks, I have been using conditioner only in my hair. I found that Tresseme (sp?) works the best. You need to use quite a bit - a palm-size amount for shoulder-length hair. When you first get in the shower, Massage it into your hair and scalp for 1-2 minutes, use a wide-tooth comb to comb it through your hair, then leave it in your hair the remainder of your shower. Rinse, rinse, and rinse some more, and then style as usual. I have no more frizz and my hair is very soft and clean. It's not greasy at all, but it is hydrated.
I'm not trying to sell a product, but this is something that has really worked for me, and I'd like to see if it works for anyone else.

I used pureology or Organix
I used pureology or Organix products. The pureology can get SO damned expensive but I love it.
I don't have much trouble with my hair though...it's not color treated anymore and I've only had 2 perms in my life. It's just straight and thank God it's still silky and smooth.
Now my mom has TERRIBLY troublesome hair I'll have to tell her your solution
i have to shampoo my head every single day. I used conditioner every day too. I do what you do with the conditioner though...put it in and leave it til the end of the shower. I can't comb it through though, I did that a long time ago and noticed i was having breakage bc my hair is weakest when it's wet and freshly shampooed.

me too! My husband makes
me too! My husband makes fun of me whenever I see a new product on tv. I get so excited!!! I tried the WEN it works great, but it's too too expensive. The other night I had a migraine and couldn't sleep so I went to the living room took some excedrin and stayed up watching infomercials all night! I'm so proud of myself because I didn't buy anything, but this is what I want:
cricut expression $299 - for all my scrapbooking needs
Youthology ($39.99)- because it takes away eye puffiness (boy do I need that!)
Yourstory ($99) album maker - because I love making photo books
Bareminerals makeup - I have some, but could always use more!
I'm glad I didn't buy youthology because I went online after and found out it was a scam - too bad

I'm a sucker for skin care / anti-wrinkle product. Everytime I see a skin care commercial I get goo-goo eyed. My husband starting saying it first now "ooooh, I need that".

I do that whenever I pass by
I do that whenever I pass by Sephora or Ulta. I went to Sephora to get a thing of smashbox foundation and came out with my entertainment account $400 lighter than it was when i went in. For Shame! lol

My infomercial nightmares
My infomercial nightmares are anything work outs and Time Life 80's music.
The best ones come on in the middle of the night. I have problems sleeping so my husband takes my credit card every night...lol!
Try putting your conditioner
Try putting your conditioner on first like you normally use, then shampoo it out. Hairstylists suggest this if your hair looks oily way sooner in your day than it should using your conditioner last. I fightcrackly dry all winter and oily terrible during the summer and this with or without my half dollar amount of gel works wonders on mine
