How about skid/kids?

What kind of chores do they have? At what ages?

My two are 17 and 21. SS is 17.

All of the kids are expected to clean up after themselves, load their dishes, wash their clothes and towels, and keep their room from overflowing and stinking. Lol. (I love a clean house, but do turn a blind eye to their bed rooms.) No food in the bedrooms though.

They also take weekly turns of the big chores. Once a week, (usually Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, who ever’s turn it is, will clean their shared bathroom top to bottom. That means scrubbing shower and toilet, mopping, ect. They also sweep, and dust the common areas like the living room, kitchen, laundry room,etc.

The boys take turns on taking out the trash.

My son (14) takes out the trash, unloads the dishwasher when I need him to, cleans his room, takes his laundry to laundry room. Princess (10) doesn't do a damn thing.

My SD12 does chores everyday. Picks up dog poop every other day. takes out the garbage and recycle daily. cleans her room and bathroom once a week. vaccumes once a week. The cool thing was she came up to her father and I and said that she wanted to do chores because she wants an allowance. she made her own chores and does them on her own. if we remind her to do them is is -$1. its a good system for us.

Sd16 lives with us. She is doing basically everything, but I do have to ask her like 10times cos she forgets it...teenager... She makes amazing cookies and cakes, lol I added weight since I live with them Smile Her sister sd15 lives with the mom and comes EOW, if I ask her to do something she says no. She behaves like she is a guest in the house. FH use to say that I should leave them when it`s visitation since they suppose to be happy-yeah, and I should break my back from cleaning and cooking... Anyway I gave up on begging them so most the time I do the things alone and try to keep my mouth shut, since I`ve been acused creating nothing but tension in the house. Now before eow I start with mixing a drink for myself with lots of gin or red wine and when they go home on monday than I use my whole day to bring back the house to normal.

s_cherry LOL! Biggrin I know what you mean!!! FSD's 15 and 17, are dreams!!! FSD 7, is sooo funny but not really into being clean. FSD7 is with us every other weekend and 3 days a week. The older two girls are full time at their mom's (who is sane and a good mom) SD7's mom (nuts!!!).

These kids think they are coming for vacation and not visitation. I have a sd7 too. I asked her what is she doing at her moms place, she said well everything from washing the dishes and cleaning with the vacuum cleaner, but at our place I needed a year to teach her to put her dishes into the dishwasher. FH is a biiig guilty dad.
On the other hand I gave up hoping after the first year together. I saw I brought out the maximum from all of them and fighting with sd15 will only ruin my relationship with FH. So it`s better to decide on time what is one able to swallow and still live in a happy way. The kids are good and I see sd15 4days in a month, I can survive that

My Kid/Skids are young still

SS5 - Has to pick after himself in the house meaning bathroom, living room, his room and where ever else he makes a mess

BD6 - Same as above

SD3 - Same as above

my kids picked up after themselves, helped me fold and put away laundry, dried dishes (I'm the dishwasher) set the table, picked up the yard and basically anything age appropriate I asked. SS nothing unless he was able to get husband and I arguing and then he'd do the crappiest job he could. His chore was to pick up after himself, wash the dishes if he was the only one here and there was a sinkful (he used a different cup for every sip of water), take out the trash if he noticed it full (he rarely noticed)and occasionally mow our small city lot lawn (about 2 times)
