I'm afraid my wisdom has become jaded on many levels and I wouldn't want to discourage those who have a fighting chance at this.

I read here and there, and see the struggles that sound so familiar and my best advice would be to never lose yourself trying to help another, love another, blend with another. Set firm boundaries early on, sooner than you know you'll need them. And perhaps the most unpopular notion of all...

I will never again parent someone else's child. I will love one again perhaps, but the man had better be completely competent as a parent, and not looking for a savior or I'll run as far and fast away as I can.

Peace...is not mine yet. Hopefully it will be again one day. I long for and miss it much.
