I know both my SS12 and SD13 started wanting to come less at around age 11...and they only live about 10 minutes away. I am hoping that in the next couple of years it will dwindle off even more!!!

DD, you're lucky ~ skids sd14, ss11 don't seem to have any friends and haven't started wanting to stay home more often yet and i certainly would have thought by age 12-13, but NOPE and there are NO kids that live close to us, neighbor's grand kids on occassion. social outcasts maybe?

hello kitty, chill with the caps

Yep. At around 11 kids are just too cool for thier parents haha. Especially if it is a long drive away from the mall and thier friends. I feel like that was me just yesterday haha.

I am wondering this myself, my BFs D17 lives 2 1/2 hours away and asks to come over ALL THE TIME. I fear IT WILL NEVER STOP Sad

Your darling skids will never leave because they 'lub yoo' Maux...

I am of course teasing - don't smack me!

Hope married life is treating you well.

My skids come eow faithfully and they also come weeks at a time in the summer. I thought when they got older it would be less and less. They are all teenagers and we live close to town and bm does not. They seem to come more now than before. Move out to the country where nobody is close to you for miles and they will stop coming. I am seriously thinking about it. Smile

fran ~~ think twice, i live in the fucking country, no "close" neighbors and those neighbors' kids are as old or older than me and the little ass gnats still come religiously... i seriously think they are lacking social skills.. what 14 yr old girl doesn't have anybody other than mil to hang out with? and never a bf, crush or anything?? way on the weird scale if you ask me!

ss11 ~ i'm at a loss for words for him, he doesn't even talk like he has friends he never sees like sd... social outcast w/no imagination either??

sd & ss will NEVER live here as long as i'm alive and hopefully my will is written well enough not even after i die. but that doesn't mean they both won't have kids by 20 living with bm in their <1976 trailer in the trailer~hood, i just know they won't be living with me.

we don't live on a farm, per se, just bfe if you ask me. dh loves it, i would prefer to be in the city, but we're happy except when skids are here, they just seem to bring a darkness when they are around...

This is the same for me 15 and 12 and they still want to come eow and weeks at a time in summer.I was hoping that as they get older they would want to spend more time at BMs with their friends.

I'm still waiting.

It depends on the kid.

My SS-18 never stopped wanting to visit the SpermClan. However, we also never gave him a choice. The CO says he visits so we complied with that.

Not that we did not also take advantage of the stipulations that all parents accommodate a teens wishes to spend time with friends. SS did put his foot down a few times to shorten SpermClan visitation to go on school trips and otherwise spend time with the his friends or go on a RagsClan trip in lieu of spending the entire CO'd visitation time in SpermLand.

I believe that his continued visitation with the SpermClan was due in large part to his mom and my insistance that we would not prevent him from having a relationship with the SpermIdiot and the SpermClan.

SS is not a particularly assertive person and pretty much goes with the flow and with whatever a person of authority tells him to do.... as long as the one telling him what to do is standing in front of him while he does what he is told.
