Wedding Bells and Whiny SKIDS :S

lac925's picture

Well, DH and I FINALLY (after 7 years) tied the knot Smile All throughout the planning process, we were debating having the skids there. We figured it would be nice to include them, but then, we'd see their behaviour EOWE and think it'd be best to spare ourselves the embarrassment in front of our guests (they have THE WORST table manners, they constantly fight, they are rude and disruptive). So, finally, when it came down to it, we decided (reluctantly on MY part) to have them there for the weekend.

It started out relatively ok...until the actual ceremony. I didn't see it (thank GOD or else I would've blown a gasket!), but DH told me that coming down the aisle, SS10 bumped SD8 into the chairs :jawdrop: In front of EVERYONE! :jawdrop: Anyway, the ceremony went fairly smoothly and everyone loved it. SD8's whiny-ness came out during the pictures. It was a cold day, but we had some pictures taken outside. Every one was a trooper except...you guessed it...SD8! She was crying and whining that it was too cold and that she didn't want to take pictures. Now, I wouldn't have minded this except that she HAD a sweater, that I relented on her wearing even though the colours were a bit off for our theme (black and grey instead of black and white), only she NEVER WORE IT for the ceremony! :? And she was acting like a little baby in front of everyone and the photographer! On to the dinner :O Every table was served a selection of salads family-style and a basket of bread as the first course. Half way through, she says in a LOUD voice that I'm sure could be heard from across the dining room "Is this ALL we're getting? Where's the turkey?" :jawdrop: Oh, and that's not all! DH told me that she had a glass of punch...which she poured BACK INTO THE PITCHER! :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop: Forget if anyone else wanted some! And she and SS10 were asking my sister and her bf (who were sitting near them) all sorts of personal and obnoxious questions and basically acting like total retards! And of course, let's not forget SS10 eating like a caveman with salad dressing all over his face! And he nearly toppled our wedding cake over more than once, and couldn't keep his grubby fingers off the fondant! Our 5-yr-old acted like he was TWICE their age - a fact that more than a few people noticed!

This was why I didn't want them at our wedding. Their lack of social skills is utterly astounding! And to top it all off, BM had the nerve to ask DH if she could have SS10's tuxedo when they were done! :jawdrop: We know it's just so that she can sell it or use it for her own "fantasy wedding" (to a guy she's not allowed to even have around the kids!). SD8 got to take her dress and shoes home (because she's a princess, y'know, and gets what she wants  ), so I suppose BM can get a few bucks out of those! SMH Overall, the wedding was beautiful and the honeymoon trip was even better - we took our 2 boys on our first ever family vacation and it was super fun! There was NO WAY those 2 imbeciles were coming along - we wouldn't have had enough money to appease them!

But it's OFFICIAL and BM can now suck it! I know she wanted to get married before DH and I did - she announced HER engagement and had already booked her photographer and cake soon after we announced OUR engagement, but she had to get her money back to pay for bills ROFLMAO! Blum 3 There was no way she was getting married before us because she spends all her money on crap things that she/skids don't need! She is such a douchebag it's not even funny - well, actually it's hilarious! Blum 3

I am trying's picture

Argh! I was totally going to write a post about my SD13's obnoxious wedding behaviour as well but I never got around to it! We had a camping wedding so very natural/outdoorsy in the summer. Our families were staying in cabins and boats (it was on an island at a national park) and everyone was having a great time, except SD was being a pain in the ass to everyone!

She was staying with DH's family and apparently was acting like a total diva the night before the wedding. She saw that the bag her dress was in had a little tear in it and went ballistic, insisting on Duct taping it all up so no one could see her dress. She wanted it to be this big reveal the next day like it was all about her. DH's Sister-in-law had to pull her over and have a chat with her about how it's not her wedding and it really doesn't matter if anyone sees a tiny peek of the fabric of her dress(it was a fairly casual wedding so it's not like she had a fancy bridesmaid's dress or anything, just a casual cotton dress - but still, who cares?).

Also she was being a total drama queen at dinner the night before the wedding. Her grandma made steaks for their cabin and she took a spazz because hers was cooked medium not charred to a crisp. She accused her grandmother of trying to poison her and forcing her to eat blood, etc. Once again SIL stepped in and told her to relax herself and did she REALLY think her own grandmother would poison her?

The day of the wedding, she was equally annoying and once again trying to make it all about her. She sobbed and streamed tears from the moment the ceremony started until way later when we were having pictures taken. People were all looking at her wondering why she was having such a breakdown. She kept telling them that she was just so happy that her dad was marrying someone as nice as me and she was so happy to see him so happy, etc. Blah blah blah, anyone who knows us well enough knew she was full of crap! She was just being a friggin drama queen again to pull the focus off of us and put it all onto her. The minister asked her to sign the marriage register (not as an official witness of course) and she sobbed the whole time. I was annoyed at first because I didn't want her name on the document, but afterward I realized that the minister was brilliant. Making her sign the document must have just rubbed salt in the wound, like hammering nails into your own coffin hahaha! Genius! Anyways, while we were supposed to be taking pictures of us signing the register, all the pictures are of us hugging her and comforting her. I admit that the ceremony was touching and most people did shed a tear or two, but no one was blubbering to that extent, and especially that long after the ceremony was over. No one!

Then, she followed us around as we were getting our pictures taken, even though we had already done the "family photos" and it was time for us to just go off on our own and take a few romantic shots on the beautiful rocks and islands. Not only did it make me feel uncomfortable that she was staring at us during the whole shoot, but she even managed to get into many of the photos since the photographer didn't know what to do with her just standing there awkwardly so kept suggesting she come into the photos. DH had to say "Actually, we would like some pictures with just the two of us" and so there are some shots of us walking away hand in hand along a sandbar and SD standing on one of the rocks off to the side looking pissed that she didn't get to come hahaha!

The night of the wedding, she followed us everywhere as we went around visiting our guests at all the campfires, and then basically had to be forced to go to her own cabin to sleep. It was our wedding night for Christ's sake! Did she really think she would be staying with us? She went home with DH's dad the next day but she begged and begged to stay with DH's mom (who stayed at the island for a week, despite the fact that that was supposed to be our honeymoon, but that's another story). I'm glad MIL said no because when I heard she was planning on staying during our honeymoon my first thought was that she would try to keep SD there too, to turn it into a whole big family vacation. DH was like "No, she wouldn't do that." But when I asked MIL one day who was planning on driving SD back after the wedding (since SD was driving up with MIL), she was like "Oh, I was just planning on keeping her up there with me." So DH put an end to that plan pretty quickly, but we were still worried that MIL would undermine us and keep SD anyway. Luckily she didn't. I had a back-up plan for DH's brother to take her home anyways just in case the grandparents caved.

Another thing, she had never texted DH before other than little things like what time to pick her up or other important messages. The day she left from the wedding weekend she texted to say she got home safe, which was good, but then proceeded to text DH 26 times within the next three days. DH didn't respond but told BM to take SD's phone away, which I guess she did since it stopped, but I was pissed. SD once again was trying to take all DH's focus and attention away from me and us and put it onto herself. I asked her afterwards if she understood what a honeymoon was. She said yes. So I said why in the heck did you think that it was appropriate to launch such a text-assault at DH during the time he was supposed to be relaxing and enjoying himself alone with his new wife? She didn't answer. She never answers. She just stares and has nothing to say for herself.

So annoying...

OMG this reminds me how BM tried to start a whole shit storm drama series while my H and I were on our honeymoon. It was one text after another after another (a total of 20 in 2 days) and several phone (5+) calls. After my H realized that NONE of it was an emergency that involved the kids, he just turned his phone off. BM lost her mind. But WTF - we are on our HONEYMOON why the hell would we want to hear from BM over trivial bullshit that she had completely fabricated as even semi-important?

It's like, SD left her flip-flops at our house? Um. Ok. Thanks for interrupting our HONEYMOON to call us over some f'ing FLIP-FLOPS!

I don't think I will ever understand why if the skids love their parent so much that when they see them happy with another person beside their other birth parent it pisses them off so much. Yes I know it is a reminder that the birth parents are no longer together and never will be again, but geez, be happy for your parent that they are happy. If the skids would stop taking it all so personally maybe we can all relax and maybe just get along (which if they pulled their head out of their ass they would see the new relationship could really benefit them)!

When I married my husband he almost got the wedding canceled when he said that he wanted his ds14 to be his best man. I flat out said no. He was butt hurt because my oldest bs18 came home from the Navy to walk me down the isle with my dad. I had been a single mom his whole life so I thought it would be a cool touch to have my ds walk me. So to compromise and make sure that all four boys were included in the ceremony we did a candle ceremony where each of us poured some candle wax beads into a pretty vase. Each boy, myself, my dh and pastor were all part of the ceremony. Turned out nice. After the wedding I heard of all of the stuff that the skids were doing-so glad I didn't see any of it! I would have kicked their ass right there! Every picture ss14 looked like he was being hot pokered and just makes the pics uncomfortable to look at.

Well Congratulations on the wedding and I wish you and your husband all the best!

Ha ha I LOVE these comments, ladies! Smile

On the Sunday after the wedding, BM kept texting DH about getting the kids back for her THanksgiving dinner with her family (who basically all hate her). But DH said not to worry because we were taking our time to say goodbye to my family (who live 3 hrs away and rarely come down). I mean, c'mon, BM KNEW it was our wedding weekend and how busy it would be. If she had issues about him bringing the kids back late, then she shouldn't have tried so hard to get him to get the kids that weekend! Good thing is, all of DH's family know how b*tchy BM is and how poorly she's raising the kids, so they're all on MY side. They didn't let Little Miss Princess or Mister Neanderthal ruin the day for us (although I'm sure they were trying to!). There's a picture of us kissing at the end, and everyone is smiling except for SS10 - he's got this sourpuss look on his face that's just priceless LOL

I think when we renew our vows, we'll do it in the Caribbean WITHOUT the brats!
