So my job is moving to another state and i wont be able to go with them. They havent told any of us that they are moving yet and we belive they will be moving within the next month. Is there any way they are trying to be sneaky so we cant claim unemployment? I wish i could go but i wont be able to relocate. my Stepson is here and i dont want to move my daughter out of her amazong school and husbands company is here. Opnions?

My opinion
Is to see details. I earn 3 times more than my husband so if my job has to move, it has to move. And it already moved from the place where his kid is living and everyone survived, he even keeps visiting his kid on the same schedule but it became a bonus for me because I do not see him anymore.
Now for the school I would also check schools in this other town, maybe they are not too bad either. So it is all question of balance, pros and cons
Unemployment pay is not
Unemployment pay is not dependent on them giving notice. Unemployment pay is not dependent on them still having a business in the state. Unemployment pay is not dependent on them even being still in business. If you lose your job, through no fault of your own, and have worked the required number of months, you are entitled to unemployment. File the day after your last day of work.
If they are moving within a month and haven't told any of you, I think it is reasonable to assume that you aren't going to be offered jobs at the new location. Generally, companies give employees who are transferred more than a month to arrange a move.
Very helpful, thank you guys.
Very helpful, thank you guys. I didnt think they would be offering a job either, they are defientely expected to move by the ending of the month if not by the ending of the summer. resumes going out. thank you!
I worked for a company years
I worked for a company years ago that moved out of state. They offered me a very good package to relocate with them but I didn't want to live in the city they moved to, so I turned it down. My life was here. I filed for unemployment.
They actually fought having to pay stating that it was my decision to leave. Well, the unemployment office thought differently and I won - basically it came down to the fact that re-locating your entire life isn't a reason for them to deny you unemployment and it was not my fault they decided to move.
