Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Nothing more cringey than
Nothing more cringey than (some of) the geriatric population on social media. My SO's dad was caught friending porn stars from the Old Country by accident.
I'm not on social media
I'm not on social media because I already keep in touch with the people I want to keep in touch with (and have know anything about me) but from what I understand my own mother is a hot mess on the internetz.
I blame it on her being old but its probably really just cuz she's a nutter in her own right.
End result is still the same, cringe worthy indeed. Bleh.
My MIL likes just about every
My MIL likes just about every post BM makes - even those that have nothing to do with the skids. MIL will like (and even comment positively on) BM's posts about how wonderful her new husband is! To make it even weirder, BM left DH after cheating on him multiple times, and his mother knows that. Whatever. I think it's strange but I don't really care. I'm sure BM doesn't think for a minute that MIL is spying for us. And lest you think MIL does this because BM is the mother of her grandchildren, she is also FB friends with DH's former fiancee who preceded BM and who DH hasn't seen or had contact with in over a decade. SMH.
Ughhh.
Ughhh.
That is just a no no in my book.
Big difference between being polite in public V facebook friends. It may send the wrong message to some people.
Unless he is the towns Rev and everyone in town is his friend on fb.
