You are here

Ghosts, Ghouls & monsters but enough about the SKs, how are you??

AgedOut's picture

Really, how are you?

How're you feeling?

How are you coping?

How are you surviving?

Are YOU okay???

Not them or him or her, just Y-O-U

(I'll reply myself after phys therapy.)

Busy and stressed from work and sibling idiocy.

Fat.

Hand-sewing and creative cooking.

DH and long talks with my Dad.

I could be better.

Thank you for asking! Hope you're doing well. *give_rose*

What is hand sewing? I'm intrigued. Want to trade siblings? (spoiler alert, mine is no prize)

Sewing things by hand; no sewing machine.

I'll take your sibling, but you have to take all four of mine! No prizes for you!

I'm not rejecting the sibling trade, just mulling it over. Did I mention mine comes w/ his own succubus?

I am actually pretty darn good!

I am feeling very excited about an upcoming project; have been prepping for months.

I am coping/surviving with 'step stuff' far better than I used to. DH and I have learned how to communicate effectively...that's a huge win!

Life, other than 'step stuff', is generally great! Work is highly stressful, but I am accustomed to that. I like to read and listen to music to de-stress. I like to work out. I also love to try new recipes, both sweet and savory...part of why I like to work out...haha!

On the 'okay' scale, I am a 9.5.

AgedOut, I am eager to hear about your therapy. I also look forward to reading about everyone!

Communication, when it's two way, is so great!! Congrats to you, it's such a hard thing to achieve but so worth it.

I've also been kind of into baking and savory. I have also been trying new tastes and making sure we eat at home more.

My therapy is only physical therapy. I had a hip replcement in July. I'll making my own reply as soon as more caffeine hits my brain.

I'm good.  Though my car is still in the shop, 6wks and counting, due to idiocy on both the dealership and the insurance company.

And.... 10mins ago my garage door took a dump and is now binding. I can't open it at all.  The opener will only raise the door 3ft.  What happened?  The counter spring broke. So, no usable car for us until the Leasing company gets the service crew here to  raise the door and lock it in place until they can get a replacement spring.

I just got back from the grocery store.  Was putting stuff away and heard a noicse from the garage.  Went out to get the water out of the car and the door would not open but a little.  Quick engineeric assessment, broken spring. Now the leasing company is trying to get someone out on a Sat so we have access to our remaining vehicle.

Scratch one-s head

Luckily, this is a landlord problem and not a me problem.

Any bets on how long it takes for someone to get our here?

Of course the garage door company wants to install a complete brand new door. Not necessary IMHO. All it needs is a replacement spring.  Though not my property, not my problem.

that's like needing a bandaid and ending up with a cast. makes no sense. I hope they get it fixed for you asap!!

Okay my turn ... I got nothing.

Seriously, although we now have a target time for the Mr to retire (yay) we've also been focused on redoing wills, etc.

We are just kind of doing the middle aged coast through Fall. It's apple festival time so we've done one a weekend, my first real walks out for the day. Physical therapy is good. I probably only have two more sessions left, one this Friday and the other a few weeks out. Surgeon signs off on me tomorrow. New hip is doing great. Stepson is good, we spent the day w/ him and his fiance yesterday. Apple fest and car show. He's a good egg, and we love her to pieces. Their wedding is this time next year.

Apple festival sounds nice! Our trees started off well, but we had a freeze so the crop is light this year. The deer will have to find food elsewhere this winter. *sad*

The weather is great, DH and I are healthy and life is quiet.  I had 2 bouts of covid over the last year and I'm so thankful to feel good now.  I'm so thankful that even house cleaning is a pleasure.  Lol.    Life is good.

AgedOut's picture

Covid sucks (I think) from what I've heard. It's like that unwelcome visitor who keeps showing up.

It makes me smile to see you saying life is good!!

Very well! Getting out of the ptsd slump I've been in. Doing consulting work, which provides an income and gives me time for "real life," which is the good stuff. Exercising a lot. Enjoying people. DH and I are in a good place. Reading. Grateful. Thankful for ST!

This is such a wonderful update!! I am so happy for you, life is meant to be enjoyed in between the yuck stuff and I'm glad you can enjoy it now.
