SD got a cellphone
So, my 8 year old SD, who JUST turned 8, came home from an extended visit at BM's house with a CELLPHONE. BM and BM's mom got her a cellphone for texting and calling. Wtf? An 8year old with a cell phone?
To make it more awkward, BM has not called for her daughter in almost a year and BM's mother has called only a hand full of times..and she always calls my husbands phone and he ALWAYS lets them speak. Why would they get a phone for her??
To make it even funnier, they programmed everyone's number except for mine..an obvious attempt to piss me off.
Husband just put it in a drawer and told her she can use it inside, if she asks, after school until bedtime...and only to call her BM or grandmother.
I wouldn't have accepted it if I were him, but..hey.

DH got suckered into getting
DH got suckered into getting SD and SS cell phones when they were that age... what a freaking joke! Of course by the time it was all said and done he ended up with a $700.00 AT&T bill because they ran up all kinds of overages. Yeah... they were 8 and 9... We KNOW it was BMs using the stupid phones, but of course they denied it, because 8 and 9 year olds talk on the phone sooooo much! {sarcasm} Can't even begin to count the number of broken, wet, lost, and screwed up cell phones we have had to replace for them in the last 5 years.
I seriously hate cell phones... it has been nothing but a hassle and money pit ever since SS14 and SD15 have been old enough to HAVE TO HAVE one... i don't even want to think about how much money we have wasted in the last 5 years on stupid cell phone shit with the skids.... UGH!
