Need a strong lawyer in Lake County IL

MamaG's picture

My husband has filed to PAY child support in order to get established visitation and avoid drama. Well now she has been lying and got a restraining order against my husband AND I. She wants to request all kinds of paperwork, is pretty much prolonging everything instead of settling with an agreed amount and visitation schedule. Well the problem is my lawyer is a pushover and the only thing he is doing is forwarding us the papers her lawyer is requesting and sending. My question is, do you know of a strong and aggressive lawyer who is pro fathers in the Lake County Illinois area? Money is no problem we just want a lawyer who will fight for father rights and give the child a fair shot in having his father in his life.

Getting visitation with the child: http://www.illinoislegalaid.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.dsp_content&co...

Given that this child is out of your state and doesn't know DH too well (or at all), DH needs to start somewhere simple, like with phone calls once a week, then progress to overnight visits. Once he and SS get to know each other, he'll probably get a schedule stating that he gets summer breaks, school breaks, etc.

How old is the child?

If the parents were not married when child was born, paternity probably will have to be proven before your DH can get every far in this (if not already established). After paternity is established petitions for other orders such as CS and custody along with visitation ect could obtained.

CS in Illinois is figured on the NCP's income and is 20% for one child.
