You are here

Lil rambly.

When L (SS) came home with arms full of groceries from his BM, I sighed a little inside.

Freakin enabler. Thanks for undermining us. Really appreciate it, S. Love you too.

After L went off to wherever, I remarked to G (DH), "He probably complained to her that we weren't feeding him enough here."

Damn. I shouldn't have said that. It's just bitchy and bitter and harsh and it'll upset him.

"Ha, yeah, that's probably exactly what he did," G replies.

I know we can't fight against an enabler - S doesn't care, it's not her problem anymore, now that L's living with us instead of her. She can just throw money at it and not deal with it beyond that (well, unless L calls her and flips out at her over nothing, like he did for the second time this morning, that was fun... not).

It just gets really frustrating. Realizing that my SS is a douche and it's not just me he's douchey to kind of helped a bit, like it's not just a personal thing against me. But on the other hand, if it was just me I could overcome that (or ignore it, I suppose). Since it's not, this is his personality, and since he thinks he's fantastic and wonderful (not exaggerating), there's not much I can do.

"It's going to be to the point soon where I just stay in the bedroom all day with the door closed to get away from him," I tell DH.

"If that's what you have to do, do it," he replies. "Withdraw, if you have to. I understand. You can only take so much."

I don't know that this entry has a point, I'm just tired and somewhat rambly. Don't mind me.

Wow your SS is 21yrs. I was just reading some of your other post. Why are you still putting up with it, why is he still at home with you. Don't mean to pry but I would like to know so I can fix my issue before it gets past 18yrs old.

If he had his own room I'd banish him there, but he's staying in our living room on a futon.

THIS happens here too.

SD complains to all and sundry that we starve them (the girl is obese and we try to be healthy but we always have fruit, and snacks, and I put out a gargantuan meal for her....)

So she turns up with junk food from BM every time she comes over. WE find the remnants in her room at the end of the weekend.

We discussed it the other night, I said I am not really happy with it, he agrees, and that he doesn't understand what BM is thinking - sure as heck not about SD but at point scoring against us. At her daughters expense stupid cow.

The sad thing is, we can't fight against enablers - they're just going to keep enabling no matter what.

Yeah, exactly - there's always fruit and something to make to eat. I think L just gets pissed because I'm not making him fifteen meals a day.

Wait, your DH is telling you if you have to, go ahead and hide in your bedroom all the time? How about getting his freeloading asshole of a son out of your home so you don't feel like a prisoner in your own home??? Maybe he should go rent an apartment with his son and let you have your house back!
