The pediatrician's office called me a few weeks ago about SS12's account. Had an insurance issue. I was confused when they called and assumed they were calling about my daughter's insurance as it is always a hassle. When I figured out it was for SS I laughed and said I would tell DH. I told her I was stepmom and did not deal with SS12's health stuff. End of call.

This morning the same woman called and asked for me. She said she was calling about SS12 lab results. I said Oh, let me give you DH's number so you can call him or would rather he call you? Uh, office policy is to call the mother...Oh, I see, well, I am NOT the mother and do not deal with SS12's health stuff. Would you like to call DH or have him call you? Uh...but we call the mom...we always call the mom and tell her.

I understand, however I am NOT THE MOM. I will have DH call you. Oh, uh, um, OK I guess...
