SD18 too heavy for the army....

G'day Stalkers!

This is my first time posting in a long time, but I wanted to drop by for a quick update. SD18, who has lived with her perfect bio-daddy since last February, is attempting to join the army. However, DW found out today that SD is 5 pounds too heavy. If she can loose the 5 pounds before Thursday, she can re-weigh, but if she is unable to make the cut, she will have to wait quite a while to try again. SD18 is therefore on an "apple and carrots" diet for the next 3 days. SD18 is with DW for Spring Break, and I am out of town for the week, so thankfully I won't have to deal with a grouchy, entitled teen dealing with hunger pangs. Sucks to be DW!

Ha! I hope she gets in......be a break for you and who knows? Maybe the Army will straighten her up.

How over weight is she? To be too over weight for the Army, at this time in history, is kind of...well...over weight.

She currently weighs 183, the max weight is 178. She actually got as high as 208 at one point, so she is at least heading the right direction. That said, given her height and build, I think that 155 should probably be at the top end of her weight range....

That is ridiculous. She knows she has to run right? Can she run? I have seen some biiggggg girls run their asses off. A few can actually lap me and I am a runner.

Jesus! Is she an amazon!? I'm 5'6" and my max weight for the army at 27 y.o. was only 158. Holy crap!

I am 5'5 and weigh 135-138. That is a good weight for me. 130 seems really low for a woman your height.

I agree Hypovic, I'm 5'9" as well and I feel the best between 125-130. Currently 135, so I can't bitch too much.

I would have agreed with you if you would have said "...the Air Force (with the exception of Med Group) are hard core physical fitness people..." }:) Haha

A lot of them don't even get a chance to fail because they are on never ending waivers.

Well, selfishly, I hope that she makes it. I would feel much better about my future if she was in the army, since she would hopefully be deployed far away from us!

It would be win/win, though, since she would really get a lot out of it if she made a serious effort. However, I don't think that she has the discipline to do it. She is incredibly lazy and entitled, even after a year living at her perfect daddy's.
