Good morning fellow StepTalkers,

I have to give it up to DW, she has continued to come up with new ways to pander to SD20, while simultaneously giving me the middle finger. It's getting to be ridiculous.

Quick recap, SD20 (aka "Porky") and her husband (aka "Taco") recently moved back to the area, after Porky was discharged from the Army for "unspecified" medical reasons. Apparently at least part of the reason was her inability to make weight (good job teaching those healthy eating habits DW!), and also partly due to a heart condition. Porky did qualify for a partial GI Bill, and wants to go to "college." Of course, she just barely graduated from high school, and would be way behind even in basic pre-requisite courses, but that won't stand in the way of DW's unwavering faith in Porky to get her life on track. DW hatched a secret plan to move Porky back into our house without consulting me, which led to a huge fight. Eventually, Porky and Taco decided to move in with Porky's grandmother, aka "BitchMotherInLaw," so at least they aren't under our roof. DW was really pissed about this, and has been working to get back at me for "running them off."

Anyway, here's DW's new approach: she has been having Porky, Taco, BitchMotherInLaw,and BitchMotherInLaw's lickspittle boyfriend over for dinner multiple nights a week. Just this week, they were over on both Monday and Tuesday. Last night, DW went out drinking with Porky and Taco, and came home smelling like an ashtray. Of course, I wasn't invited to go, and DW couldn't even be bothered to update me about her plans, since she was originally only going to get dinner, not go out drinking. I imagine this would not be a big deal for a lot of people, but DW keeps me on a very short leash, and would never allow me to go out like that. And of course, they are going out again tonight for Porky's birthday, and I'm not allowed to go to that either.

We had walked back a bit from the crisis of a few weeks ago, but I am not going to tolerate DW repeatedly choosing Porky over me. I am admittedly biased, but I really can't see how this is normal or acceptable behavior. It is only further emboldening Porky, and giving her power over our lives. Looking back over the years, DW has always favorited Porky, and has consistently kissed her ass, and chased her around. She has an older son, "Tubby," and she does not spend nearly as much time, energy, or money on him. It honestly seems like some kind of fixation, where she constantly needs validation from Porky. I just don't get it.
