CS and COVID

Just curious but does have a partner who lost their job or has reduced income because of covid, and managed to have their child support modified?

DH is paying on last years income and has had a cut of around 40 percent (a lot of work dried up when covid hit). He doesn't think it's worth bothering about because he thinks it 'all works out in the wash' and reckons he would spend the difference on lawyer fees.

Maybe he's right. Anyone with any experience here?

Lawyer's fees can add up.  However, if the CS case was started with the state, they can help modify it.

Around here, you don't need a lawyer to file for a CS modification, you can just fill out a form that gets sent to BM and a court date is scheduled. It's not like custody - they will either grant it or not, depending on the information you give them.
