Did she take SS5 to a DRUG HOUSE???
From the way SS was discribing this little adventure, that is what FH and I BOTH got out of it.
I picked SS up from his grandma's house yesterday (BM's mom). He is there a lot lately. BM doesn't work, so I am not real sure WHERE she is that SS has to be there all of the time.... she was saying something about a side job cleaning bathrooms at a campground (the job suits her, nasty). Anyways... SS goes on to tell me about his day with his mom. I was just letting him talk away ( we never ask how his time was with his mom... don't want him to feel like he is being tested or grilled, sometimes he just starts sharing, I usually tune it out because well Frankly, I just don't care what he does over there). But this conversation started to catch my attention when he said "I went in this van with him and is was nasty in there, there was trash every where". So I started asking him questions, "who were you with, where did you go, what did you do there, where was your mom? Do you know this guy?" His answers startled me.
He went on to answer my questions and this is what I gathered from his confused little 5 year old memory. He went in a van with his friend who is an adult (his mom's latest boyfriend drives a van). His mom was with him, they went to a house that is right across the street from his mom's house (she lives at the back of a junk yard, so driving across the street to a house would not be unheard of, it is quite a ways to the back of the property where her little shack is). The house was "SOOOO dirty" and had food all over the floor. He thinks a little girl might live there because there was a Barbie book on the floor in one of the rooms. He is not sure what they were doing there, his mom got something from the man that lives there, he was a "nasty man" that needed a bath.
WTF???? What do YOU guys get out of this? I waited until we were laying in bed last night to tell FH because I thought maybe I was just jumping to conclusions... when I finished telling him what SS said FH said "you have to tell me this stuff right away, I am calling BM tomorrow, is she taking him to go get drugs with them???"

Well whatever it is..it sounds nasty. I would try talking to SS again about the story just to make sure it doesn't change at all..not grill him just ask. I know my SS has told stories that when asked again said "well I think that happeneD"..
It does sound like something went on though..and I would definitely research it more.

You are right. FH is going to talk to him about it tonight. The whole story just gave me the chills. And really, BM is disgustingly filthy. Her house is a mess, and SS doesn't really notice it. So for him to say something was "dirty" and "nasty", only leaves me to believe that it must have been pretty BAD. Not to mention she lives in a pretty rough neighborhood to begin with, so the "house across the street" could very well be a drug house.
I am going to leave this up to FH. I did my part, now it is up to him.

Once again FH was FURIOUS when I told him, but as time passed it seemed that it was no big deal. I didn't bring it up. I wanted to see if he would follow through with what he said. Of course he didn't.
I give up. I just have to let it go.

That is one thing..my FH lets alot go in the house as far as discipline..but there was ONE time when SS had made up a story about how how FH's X (who used to watch SS) had a boy over the house and they forced SS to go upstairs and play (wonder what they planned on doing?) well SS said he didn't want to go and kind of stood on stairs - which is totally inline with Ss' character..he said this boy pushed him up the stairs! I told FH this story and he went thru the roof..called his X (BM of his other son) right away and confronter her. She denied the entire thing. SS even remember the guy's name and to this day if you ask him will give you the same name which was a really weird pronunciation which is why I beleive SS.
