I'd ask him what he wants you to do with them. Although if he says keep them, I'd certainly be asking him why he wants to use the limited space in his tiny apartment for pictures of the ex that likes to torment both him and you. And I doubt it would end well for him.
Are the pics torment for him or is he reminiscing? Without skids in the pic(s), reasons for keeping them make me think of a unicorn: elusive and imaginary.
I reckon he stuck them in the box, put it out of the way on top of the fridge and promptly forgot about the lot. I say this because I have done exactly this!
I left them on the counter under his car keys. He saw them and said, "what's this? Trash or keep?" I said it's up to you. He opened it and looked at like two photos and said "Trash'" and threw them away. I guess that is good but my skin is still crawling seeing them kissing in the water.
So you can take kissey pictures with you and him with out kids by yourself. That one thing. Until that time he can put those photos someplace else. Not in your home. Give them to BM so she can keep them for the kids

I get that about photos with the kids. He said the never had a loving relationship but it looked real loving in the water. SS wasn't born yet
Hand the box to him and tell him to deal with it.
