Mommy says I can't *vent*
OMG. BM makes my head want to spin around and make pea soup fly everywhere.I got the kids up and prompting them to get dressed when SS5 stops in his tracks and says "I can't wear my shorts!!! Mommy says I can't wear these kind of pants any more, I have to have new ones"
The kind of pants he means are shorts or jeans that snap, he doesny like to snap them for some reason and he usually whines for someone to snap them for him when he first puts them on. Now, just to let everyone know, he is perfectly capable of snapping them himself, he does it all day at daycare, he does it 99% of the time at home, but when he is feeling babyish he whine and fusses for someone to do it for him. If you tell him he has to do it himself he puts on a big production of "trying" to snap them, and if you pay him no mind he will eventually just get them fastened and go on with his day.
So, apparently, Lazy McCrazy didnt want to deal with the Oscar winning "I can't fasten my pants" routine, and told SS5 that he can't have pants like that any more. That or SS5 lied to me thinking he wouldnt have to wear them if he said Lazy McCrazy told him not to. Honestly, knowing her, she actually told him this. I told SS5 that if mom didnt want him to wear them at her house he didnt have to wear them there, but that this was daddy and Auberry's house and we know he is bug enough to fasten the snaps and wear the pants.
Seriously? I cannot believe the stupid drama that BMs create. SS5 threw himself down and cried and cried, I was running late for work, all because Lazy McCrazy doesnt want to tell SS5 to button his pants or whatever else was she told him about it. I know how hard it is to be a mom, but come on, if you can take off your big girl panties and make a baby you should be able to put them back on, woman up, and be a mom.
I actually don't blame the BM
I actually don't blame the BM in that circumstance. My own DD creates a big production every time she has to wear a certain kind of shoes, so I've told her no more of those.
I mean, you have to pick your battles. If your kid doesn't like pants that snap, if he has plenty of other clothes that don't snap, I'd ask myself if it was that important to me.
I don't think there's anything wrong with your answer either, but I don't think there's anything wrong with allowing kids a certain amount of autonomy in what they wear, if feasible.
Well, you see, almost all of
Well, you see, almost all of his pants snap, and almost all of them are pretty new and fit him, so they wont be replaced any time soon. He has pants that dont snap, and I am perfectly happy to let him wear those in most situations, but it just so happened this morning that all no snap shorts were in the wash and the snap shorts were all he had to choose from. I personally dont get him shorts or pants that fasten with a snap, but these were all gifts from relatives who didnt know we have snap drama and so it is what he has for the moment. My son hates button pabts with a passion, and I swear everyone bought him button pants for his birthday and now those are what he has to choose from. I unfortunately didnt think of telling anyone that the kids have fastener preferences.
Oh, and I blame BM in this
Oh, and I blame BM in this because everything is the height of drama with her. It is never just calling FDH and asking him to send shorts that SS5 prefers, it is always calling and yelling about sending things that SS5 doesnt like because "Your son is whining about his pants, and I dont want to deal with this damn kid, and you sent snap pants on purpose to make my life a living hell" or like in this case, telling SS5 he isnt allowed to wear them anymore and daddy and Auberry need to buy him all new ones to send to her house.
Exactly. Technically, FDH
Exactly. Technically, FDH doesnt have to send clothes at all, but she throws a hissy fit if FDH doesnt, saying he shouldnt have to wear dirty clothes back home, but she isnt going to wash the clothes he came in and she wont send him in anything that he has at her house (which I kinda understand in most situations, because if you send clothes you never know when you will get them back, but she takes it to an extreme), so FDH started packing a bag for him to make life easier. If FDH didnt pack him a bag and something happened like he fell in a large mud puddle on the way to the car and got soaked, she would either send him home in soaking wet cold muddy clothes or make strip down and come home with nothing but his wet ubderwear on rather than put something on him that she keeps at her house. (true story, poor kid was wet, cold, and filthy, but God forbid he go home in mommy house clothes) It is her attitude about everything that kills me. It is all about her comfort and her convenience. Maybe I am extremely biased about it, but after dealing with her and seeing how unconcerned with her sons welfare she is I dont care anymore. Everything she does or says makes my skin crawl.
