Need Input from those who are attending the Retreat......
I have been investigating some ideas for our retreat. We all go thru different and specific events that rock our world in step parenting and there are several that are common umongst us all. I would like to have some type of constructive discussions about topics that are important and relative to our roles of being stepmoms. I would like our camp to be a place of self reflecting and self healing and have a whole bunch of fun all in one !!
Maybe - Role Playing with small skit type situations and then discussing ways of handling the situations.....
WHAT / WHY / HOW / WAYS OF COPING / WHEN / DISSENGAGING / TIMING
Entitlement -
Anger-
Resentment -
Blame-
Please help me come up with some fun ideas, with a Halloween twist maybe......
I'm getting real excited, we are having much interest in this retreat, so far it seems we have about 10 committed and still have room for about 5 or 6 more........ If you haven't committed yet, but still are interested, pm me for more information. Let me know if you are interested. I want to be prepared for everyone, so that everyone will have a comfortable and wonderful time !

I liked our last retreat's layout
We met, had a chat, had a welcoming dinner.
We chatted some more. A LOT more.
Then peeled off to sleep.
Sat was sooooooo relaxing. Sitting by the water, shooting the breeze.
I could see yoga too, but maybe chair yoga outside due to the size of the room (and the bugs outside wouldn't lend to yoga on the ground.)
I would have to ask someone who is a regular yoga person to do it, though I did attend a meditation given by a Buddhist nun once, where she did a healing/cleansing meditation. She had us all imagine someone we knew who needed help, who was sick, mentally or physically. She then had us inhale all their pain and suffering, then release it for them with our breath.
Believe it or not, I did it with BM in mind.
That one might be cool.
Being a theatre person, I have never been a fan of skits for work or therapy, because people are so self conscious about it. But we cold try some relaxed role play for situations in which we have difficulty communicating with our DH's, SK, BMs (Not me obviously.)
Writing a letter is a really good one too. Lots of therapist do this for people who have issues with a loved one who is no longer available to talk to for whatever reason. I think that might be good for me with BM since I can't ever talk to her or send her an email.
Just a few to consider.
I will do some investigating next week.
