Is there any circumstance where this would be acceptable?

Do you think that potentially losing custody is a valid reason to threaten a child's health? Or should I have posted this in the "Mental Disorders" forum . . .

To make this less vague I'll explain that BM sent outdated medicine with SS to make DH look like a bad parent who couldn't take care of SS. For perspective using old medicine can send him to the hospital or kill him.

BM just found out in the middle of last month that DH may get custody because her care of SS is being questioned, so there's her motive.

Is there any way BM's actions could be considered logical? I have a bio as well and while I would do everything I could to keep custody, there is no way I would risk his health to do so.

Thoughts?

This is medication that he needs daily in order for his body to function.

So no, I'm not talking expired vitamins or something!

There is no excuse for expired medicine to be deliberately given to anyone.

Now if you willingly take the medicine yourself (capsule antibiotics can keep for a couple of years according to my Dr)you only have yourself to blame. However handing over expired meds for your child? No Way!

I hope your DH calld the pharmacy and got a new script filled or called the Drs office. And then called his attorney.

The doctor wouldn't write a script to DH because the last time he did BM threw a fit and said that DH deliberately switched pharmacies so she couldn't get scripts filled.

Thanks to my obsessive compulsive paranoia we figured out what had happened really quick. SS is fine, but I hate to think of what could have happened! Sad

DH has informed his lawyer.

All you would need to do is call the Dr and tell him you have been given expired medication and need another script. Works in the Drs office where I work.

Hell no! Thank GOD for your OCD! Mine has helped me prevent fires and potential burglaries (double checking locks and all appliances unplugged) OCD saves lives! Lol But seriously I agree definately contact your attorney to see what you can do.

Right now we can't do anything (but vent on here!). But my DH does have a court date in the middle of this month so hopefully something will change then.
