Par for the course

My boyfriend got his son a pet snake. A little ball python... I was afraid at first but he is kind of cool, in a "keep him a few feet away from me" type of way.

So, kid went to BM's the next day and told her about the new pet. Kid returns home after his 2 days visit and starts describing to my boyfriend his brand new pet guinea pig his mom got him. Blum 3

My boyfriend casually mentions it to BM and she says "we got that guinea pig a few weeks ago" meanwhile, his son insists...no, we got him yesterday! Biggrin

My boyfriend relays this story to me and genuinely seems surprised at the competitive nature of her getting a pet and then lying about it.

I just couldn't help but laugh, actually, I GUFFAWED... because like all seasoned steps and former steps... I already knew that was coming.

Ah, yes. Ye olde new pet pissing contest.

This is so funny, in a predictable kind of way, of course. Like you, I totally believe the kid’s version of the story - not BM’s. Hahaha.

My boyfriend said to his son... well... you know what your snake eats right?

Everyone had a good laugh.

Indeed, one guinea pig is not enough. You need to keep them in groups so you need at least two. In some countries this is considered animal cruelty as they are very social animals and suffer if kept alone or with another species such as a rabbit.

I really disagree with getting pets to use as scoring cards with kids. Horrible.

That is awful I had no idea :(. She is a super immature "woman" it frightens me she even is allowed alone with a human child. Her parents enable her so bad she does nothing on her own. They will probably end up being the proud owners of the guinea pig.

My boyfriend is so into the snake he really took the time to do his homework, it is really cute how much effort he is putting into learning about their habitat, etc. It is totally his pet, his son couldn't care less lol.

We had a ball python and he was pretty cool. We rehomed him with a long time friend of mine when SS stopped coming and we realized he wasn't getting the attention he deserved. I like it when they breath in your ear.

I have a friend who has guinea pigs and she has half of a room devoted to their habitat and snuggles them every day. SS's poor guinea is probably lonely.

Ok I give you credit for not totally losing your stuff and never going over there again with a snake in the house. I am so terrified of them it is not even funny. I cry start crying and panicking even when I see a garter snake. I told SO and his son if they ever brought one of those things into our house I would make sure the thing would be dead with in minutes I would let my cats go after it to be honest or the dog. I would never sleep or be able to go into the house again. I am just way too scared huge phobia.

You are a better woman.

My uncle has an extreme snake phobia. I remember as a kid my cousin running into the house with a snake and he LOST HIS MIND.

They don't really bother me. I mean, given the choice, I would rather a furry little critter over that slithering thing... but he isn't too bad.

Yep, I think it’s a natural reaction in an insecure mom to play the competitive card. Don’t worry too much about it because now she has the pleasant chore of cleaning that nasty cage...or she’ll make skid do it and that’ll back fire on her in a whole other way.

}:) }:) AJ, }:) you know I'm having evil thoughts right now.... oh I would so mess with this BM that she will grow up very fast.

I will borrow things and let SS play with it, take photo's and post it on FB where this woman can see it, with sayings below the photo to make her think we bought that for SS, she will run out and get him bigger and better.... for nothing.

Dang I would buy him a designer show or T-shirt... and see BM squirm to top that.....and then work on the BF not to belly flop for BM stick to his CS payments and not bail her out .....

I seriously would have so much fun with her, I did have fun with my BM for 6 months, till she told Aergia to stop talking crap about things I've bought and to stop making up shit.... (poor Aergia lol, she simply told mummy what happened in our house and mummy would copy, but I only borrowed things never bought and changed it right after BM spend thousands to copy.... can't help if a friend of mine is an Interior designer with loads of stuff)

Just tell him to be glad she didn't buy a pet for HIS house.

That's a favorite too. BM once bought SS an Emperor Scorpion for his birthday and her big MOTY deed. Then she tried to ship it to my house with my newborn.

1.) I'm allergic to bees. Scorpion venom is close enough to warrant concern in that department-according to google.

2.) How's about F-NO. SS was with us every weekend at that point, who was gonna care for it?

3.) Who does that? Seriously. 30 something women apparently.
