Hauskaa Joulua/Merry Christmas
As we Finns say...Hauskaa Joulua ja onnellista uutta vuotta!
Translation... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thoughts for the holiday...
It is important to remember that not everyone is looking forward to Christmas. Some people will not be surrounded by large, loving, wonderful families and supportive friends. Many of us have problems during the holidays and are overcome with great sadness when we remember the loved ones who are no longer with us. For many, it is their first Christmas without a particular loved one, many others lost loved ones at Christmas time. And, many people have no one to spend these times with at all and are besieged by loneliness. We all need caring, loving thoughts right now. Give a few moments of support to all those who are lonely, grieving, have family problems, health struggles, job issues, money worries or challenges of any kind and just need to know someone cares. Nobody is immune. Let's all make an effort to show one another extra love, understanding, gentleness and kindness.

Merry Christmas! I haven't
Merry Christmas! I haven't been a fan of this holiday in many many years and mostly just can't wait for it to be over these days (I wish some of the original meaning was still celebrated, maybe I'd feel better) but I hope that you (and the rest of Steptalk) has a wonderful Christmas!
I know how you feel,
I know how you feel, AlmostGone. I'm very much looking forward to January 1 so I can crawl back into my cave. Too much commercialism, too much "gimme" and "what'd I get", too much ugliness. Hopefully, your day has limited drama!
Merry Christmas and happy
Merry Christmas and happy holidays everybody!
Thanks for sharing the holiday thoughts. I have experienced just about every one of these struggles at one point or another in my life. We all do. The pain of missing lost loved ones is on my heart today.
Yet, if I hadn't experienced hardships then I wouldn't be who I am or have as much compassion and understanding of others. For that reason, I am thankful for all of it, good and bad that has made who I am. That's life. I am enjoying the moment.
I hope you all find something to fill your heart with joy today.
I have a friend who lost her
I have a friend who lost her husband suddenly on this day, three years ago. I'm thinking of her.
If I could, I'd go into
If I could, I'd go into hibernation the day before Thanksgiving and wake up on the second of January, thinner and ready for a new year. I don't derive any pleasure from the holiday season anymore, and it just seems like so much work.
My own mother struggled to make Christmas special, likely because it fell to her to do it all. Too many years of that wears a body and spirit out, as many SMs have found out.
Wishing you all a peaceful 2025.
Merry Christmas! Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee!
I was more elaborate this year since Awesomeson was back from Saudi Arabia. Last Christmas Awesomeson was in SA so Christmas was muted.
We had a great time this year. DGD3.5 got ice skates and skating lessons from Santa plus a lot of other fun winter items. She's such a joy! Boisterous but very polite. Mom and Dad are doing a great job parenting her!
