There’s a ghost in our house

And this ghost is particularly fond of making messes and misplacing children's items.

Just today, after I spent my entire morning furiously cleaning my house before DH gets home from his trucking job... it had struck again! My freshly polished kitchen table was the target of the ghost today. Somehow, through a bout of sheer luck, my SD was unharmed!
The ghost used the grease from her chicken nuggets and smeared the grease all over the freshly cleaned table. The ghost somehow managed to arrange the grease into child sized finger streaks! How my 8 year old SD managed not to catch a glimpse of this entity, I will never know.
I armed her with a papertowel in case the entity made its presence known again, while I was out of the room. The ghost only ever seems to appear when there are no adults around.
OoOoOohhhhh. Super spooky!

At 8yo she can help clean up after that ghost.  I'd lay it on thick, preventative cleaning too!   Lol

You know, it's so weird. The ghost only ever messes with SD and her stuff. Never my 11YO or my stuff. Crazy!!!

Phew... thank goodness the ghost left SD unharmed!

I do think the ghost needs a new hobby... maybe trashing things that get left out.

I'd leave the mess the ghost makes so DH knows about it.  Scary stuff!  Maybe he has some ideas on what to do.  He shouldn't leave ghost fighting up to you.  You need a big brave man to handle that kind of fight.   lol.

Husband and I have discussed having a paranormal investigation team come to our house.
For some reason, SD doesn't like that idea! Weird!

I think you're right. I also think he ghost needs to start behaving like it's age and not acting like a little baby ghost.

tell her you're putting in cameras to record the ghost so you can sell it to the tv stations

I believe you. I moved out of a haunted house and just bought a new house. DH and I have been here for 4 months and we had an argument yesterday. He came down the stairs and something small hit him in the shoulder. It was one of those square plastic bread ties, He was mad, and said "Did you throw that at me?" I said "no." I was in the other room but I heard it hit the wood floor. We were both stupefied. It sailed sideways through the air on its own. This is not the first time a ghost has thrown stuff at him, just never in this new house. We thought we left all that behind in the old house. Wierd! I wonder if he just pisses off ghosts because of the rude things he says sometimes. If I were a ghost, I'd throw stuff at him too. Lol.

A prison guard and lives in quarters nearby.
they said its a known thing that ghosts existed and would terrify the young kids. Not hurt them but the young kids could see them and would tell their parents what they looked like etc.

basically inmates that committed suicide, were hanged etc. they would see these people at night hovering over them. Scared the parents hearing about it but thats the job they were working.

stuff like this scares me

There isn't actually a ghost. I was being facetious. My SD takes no accountability for what she does.

When my SD was with us, we had an amazing cat. He could open the lids on lip gloss, and turn it all the way. Then he'd smear it on walls, carpeting and electrical outlets. He also wrote SD'S name on our couch in cursive when SD was 12 or 13.

Maybe our ghost isn't a ghost, maybe it's actually a cat!! Our ghost/cat also wrote all over the walls and floor vent in SD room!
soooo spoooky!! Lol
