I’m trying to let go of the things that irritate me about my SSs. One of those things is the summer baseball schedule, as they have weekend practices and games, we won’t be able to go to our summer home as often as we’d like.

Last year we were only able to go a couple of times because of the boy’s baseball commitment. I wasted a lot of time feeling angry and resentful because we chose to stay home on most weekends and let the boys play baseball instead of going to our summer home.

I want this summer to be different. So I’m going to suggest to DH that on the weekends we have the boys, and they have baseball, I will go to our summer home and he can stay here so the kids can go to games and practices.

I feel it will take a lot of pressure off all of us. I won’t have feel upset and guilty about not spending time at our summer home. DH won’t have to feel guilt about the boys missing baseball. The boys will get to do what they want to do.

I just hope DH is open to it. He likes for us to do things together, to show the boys we’re a united front, so he probably won’t be too happy about this suggestion.
