My boys were perfectly content getting one small gift for Christmas. We recently added two puppies to our family and my boys were happy considering these their gifts. Truth is, up until last year, I was a single mom of 4 boys and we just couldn't afford Christmas. My boys have no big expectations, I love that they are understanding, and it hurts a little that I haven't been able to give them that.
Now their grandma (BMs mom has custody) allowed us to have The 3 SSs for Christmas this year. They did their Christmas early, I saw pictures, literally 20-30 gifts each! Here I am cutting my boys Christmas in half, and SSs get welfare gifts from Shop with a Cop. Then after a long 10 day visit they go home and complain that they got nothing and had to watch my boys open gifts!
