Bagel + hotdog = bagel dog

Chmmy's picture

If a kid likes bagels and likes hot dogs, why  would they not eat a bagel dog?

If you guessed because Chmmy brought them home, you are correct.

I brought them home because the meatloaf I made a couple days ago and froze for DH to have an easy dinner is going to take an hour so I thought I'd bring a snack. The same skid also will not eat meatlof but DH and YSS love meatloaf. Im vegetarian so when I do nice things like make a home cooked meal,  it isnt for my benefit. It isnt very often that Im nice...you see why?

Or, pre-teen loves pretzels.  Any kind of pretzel.  SM does a nice thing and buys a box of frozen pretzels to heat up in the oven, viola soft pretzel snack.  Does skid touch them?  NOPE.

where I used to cook for the skids I proved to DH two things:

1. the skids will turn up their nose at the exact same dish he made if they think I made it (he actually made it be we told them I made it, the next time I made the dish and we told them he made it).

2. one of the skids is so picky that the exact same ingredients can be in a different "format" (think spaghetti vs a casserole type thing with different shaped pasta but every ingredient is the same) and he won't eat it and say he's allergic but just the night before he ate two servings of the one he "loves."

Oh yeah, the sabotage of meals, sounds way too familiar. It was always a major trigger for SD when DH would compliment my cooking, and it was like her mini-wife position was at stake, like OMG, is SM trying to act like DH wife! She would try to make DH pay her attention by acting up and talk about all the things she hated about my food, DH would reprimande her, and they would get into an argument affecting the atmosphere in the house. Mission accomplished: she would get negative attention(any attention is demon supply) and drama(even more supply). (!)Then she would sneak up in the night and eat all the leftovers.

Then again, she would make anything into a competition, and it was sickening. She even said at one time SM thinks she is a better woman than me! Which is so telling about her world-view, I was just making dinner because I love to cook.

the old "if it comes from the step-parent, it's if the debil" routine.  I remember a poster on her commenting on something similar.  Her DH was gone for business a lot, and she actually had things in common with her skid, and they could have done  things together while the DH was gone. However, the skid preferred to sit in their room bored, as a way to "protest the injustice" that the step-patent existed.  My fiancés daughter is the same way, so I rarely do anything for her.

I knew my STalker friends would understand. My youngest skid ss11 doesnt care where the food came from lol.  He'll eat it. He eats most of my meals and that's why u made meatloaf. I knew ss13 wouldnt eat it but too bad. The SDs they dont touch it. They fo to a drive thru or order uber eats. I got ss11 young enough that im like a parental figure to him or at least an aunt. He's the only one of the 4 that gets me gifts for mom's day or Christmas. Its too bad the kid aint that likable as the rest of them are not either or I might have a relationship with him. I am going to try to make it to his vball game tonight of i get off work. I put some effort into that kid because he puts some effort in to me.

OMGGGGGGGG this drives me NUTS. Same in my house.

SD12 likes deli ham....and she likes bread...but if you put it together and call it a sandwhich she is having a fit and won't eat.  How does that even make any sense?

She claims to hate cheese but eats pizza....then the next week she hates pizza.

Her picky eating crap is nothing more than a fake show to gain attention and special treatment. Thankfully I have learned to ignore her.....and now that she is pushing 13....DH doesn't seem to think the whole act is all that cute anymore.

The kid was acting like this at 8 when I met DH.....and in 4 years I have not noticed one single development or change in her. It is like she is frozen in time both physically and emotionally..........soooooooo weird!!!

Its a show at my house too. A shit show. Ordering out we can never get a pizza. Its always pizza but also pasta and chicken fingers for those who dont want pizza. Never can have one thing everyone agrees on because they each think they are very special.
