Thanks to all
for your condolences. It's funny how comforting a vitrual hug can be (and y'all sent so many!). Thanks for all of the good thoughts and prayers.
I hope everyone had a good Mother's Day. Although I see from just browsing through that some did not. I guess I was kind of in the middle. Mic and I had thought to give Mama money to go to dinner and the casino (we live about a half hour away from Atlantic City), but there was so much money put out last week that we just told her about it, and said that we'd do it for my birthday at the end of this month. We were able to find a really nice card, though, and we made her favorite dinner.
As far step-mother's day, I guess I should just be glad that I was considered this year. SS forgot my card (twice), but he made me something in church, which was nice. Also, there was a gal that sings in the church, and she made the comment that all mothers should be appreciated, and she specifically included step-moms because we raise other people's children. That was pretty special for me.
Yeah, oddly enough, Ms. Perfect said that we could keep our regular weekend with SS, but that she wanted us home in time for dinner. Not sure what's up with her lately. Why wouldn't you want your kid for Mother's Day weekend??? But, of course, we weren't going to argue. Last Thursday, she specifically brought SS and his friend to play at the park by Mic's mom's house. She had to go really out of her way to do so. They stopped in by Mic's mom's so SS could use the bathroom, and Ms. P. took the time to sweet talk Bev. Bev wasn't buying it, of course, but this all leads me to think that things are not going well over at her house. She had even decided to let SS come to the viewing Tuesday night, and when we called to say that we were running a little late, her live-in boyfriend answered and was kind of nasty (I think they were in the midst of fighting at the time), although lately he had been very nice to us (refer to blog that makes argument for getting this guy a
6 pack.
Strange.
